mattsccm
Your thoughts please. SGC up for renewal in a few months and when completing the application I go and look for my SGC which I cannot find. Last seen in March when I added some guns of my fathers. Rarely dig the original out as I have enough cartridges to keep Ukraine happy and I carry a copy with me (So as not to lose or damage the original😁) I have a nasty suspicion that my SGC went with my deceased fathers - on the fire. Renewal needs a copy of my ticket which I have but it hasn't got some recent additions on it, only the original does. I can write the recently acquired guns on but of course cannot get a signature of the vendor. I guess the only way is to submit the renewal bumf with a letter stating SGC destroyed and supply what I can on the copy. Any other suggestions? London Best
I think it is a legal requirement to report the loss or theft of a SGC to your firearms department.
enfieldspares
The requirement to report the loss if a time schedule is imposed would be that number of days from having realised (or caused) the loss.
Dave at kelton
Can’t answer the question but I keep a copy on my mobile phone.
mattsccm
Well I know it might be gone today. I do have the photocopy so I have some records.
tonyshooter
Ask the police for a replacement certificate It cost £4.
Dougy
Not a problem loosing your cert, but there is a problem telling little porky pies. Just be honest and tell them you have lost it somewhere at home, nothing to worry too much about.
mattsccm
Done just that Dougy and chucked in the query about renewal.
Gordon R
Happened to me a few years ago - GMP. Told them immediately I noticed it missing. They were very helpful and just supplied a replacement.
Rim Fire
It happened to me not a problem with replacing it but they might wait because it's up for renewal in a short time
mattsccm
No rush really. Just marginally complicating a renewal as I can't tick that box. Can't online as got paper docs notre and the daft online system won't recognise my phone number but won't tell me why. They'll get what I can.
