Gordon R
udderlyoffroad - you have hit the nail on the head. There will be an inquiry, but some seem unable to resist posing "what if they had done this or that" questions. I am sure the Police personnel will feel bad enough about the shooting without the world and his wife telling them they acted wrongly.
Wymondley
Article headline in todays Fail... "'Cannabis smoking' crossbow attacker was a convicted stalker with a restraining order 'who had broken into his female victim's house' with an arsenal of weapons when he was shot dead by police" So, armed police turn up and do what they're paid to do! Well done lads, good job. Now, nothing to see here, move along. Or am I missing something?

De Menzes has been mentioned again, by people who’ve clearly done zero reading on the subject. It can’t be long before someone suggests the officer “should of (sic) fired a warning shot above their head”. On a forum where people are supposed to understand the realities of firearms. It would be comical if it wasn’t so worrying. Thank you ! 👍

Did they have a negligent discharge OR... did they think,,, well he's going to shoot himself so we'll have a bit of realism target practice or some other random idea. Surely the idea should have been to calm the situation and get the bloke to stand down and get help. How do you know they didn't try? 7 hours ago, Wymondley said: Article headline in todays Fail... Well done lads, good job. Now, nothing to see here, move along. Or am I missing something? Well that certainly changes things and goes to show people shouldn't jump to conclusions. I mean why do people assume the police would want to shoot someone, I would imagine it would be the very last thing they'd want to do. I watched a fascinating documentary on Anthony Long the ex met firearms officer with the most shootings, I felt rather sorry for him by the end of it, I certainly wouldn't have wanted to do his job.
