Cranfield
I read on an Angling Forum that there are supposed to be flood warning along the East coast, especially the Norfolk Broads. Winds up to Force 8 are supposed to be pushing the tide. http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/Flood-w...ads-t79531.html Yet there are no warnings on the Met Office weather site. There was a massive squall went through Kent late this afternoon, with very strong winds and driving rain. Blew everything around my place everywhere. There is a gale force Northerly still blowing. henry d
Heard this on the radio and they said that the general advice was to NOT go to sleep !!! I don`t want to be OTT but that is a scary thing to be publicising if it isn`t for real !

Baldrick
It's blown a gale all through the night here in Essex, but so far, to my deep regret, nobody has called to say that my mother-in-law (who lives on a house by the beach in Suffolk) has been swept away by the floods, never to been see or heard of again. starlight32
I live smack bang in the middle of it on the suffolk coastline. I live only a few hundred yards from the shore. Spent last night moving everything. Doomsday is 08.40am this morning high- tide. Little rain but a lot of wind.

Baldrick
Lowestoft isn't as dicey as Aldeburgh though, where my in-laws have a house practically on the flood plain. I hope you and your house comes through the day unscathed.

Yes I agree Baldrick- Know Aldeburgh very well- used to live in Knodishall I also shoot on the Aldeburgh marshes and crown foreshore- high risk area. MC
When I crossed the strood (causeway onto Mersea) this morning about 7.30 the tide was right up to the road, and it still has about 4 hours to flood. It is going to be a high one.
starlight32
Latest news- My workplace is evacuating all staff due to the flood warning............. Who am I to argue. Even though my house is at risk........... I think I am going to pop down the marsh and see if any wildfowl are obliging to the recent increase in water. Its every man for himself
Highlander
Calm down dears we get these warnings every year from the EA (probably to justify their jobs) but usually it’s a case of simply covering their ***** should the inevitable (‘cause one day it will) happen. Unfortunately when it does nobody will take too much notice because of these ‘cry wolf’ warnings and things will be bad. Then they’ll have an enquiry to find out what went wrong and which highly paid minister should lose their job over it! Yeah right! Starlight...good idea about the wildfowling just don’t get caught out by the high tides! Splashes would be the place to look as the birds should have been pushed off most of their usual feeding areas.
pav
I live on the edge of the beach and can see the sea from my bedroom window! Luckily though im ontop of a cliff! Axe
Watched this on the news last night, not looking good though they did say it was expected to reach a heightof 2.7m as opposed the '50s flood which reached 3.4m. Don't think the high tides are gonna help though. That picture should should be entitled 'Oh ****'!
