johncrow
Just a quick question who do you insure your guns with and are they covered in house and during shooting and transport to and from.
BobbyH
I don’t insure my guns, they are not expensive enough to warrant paying the premium. if I was to buy a £1000+ gun then I would get insurance. Im covered with CPSA for insurance and all that anyhow
steve_b_wales
My firearms are covered under my home insurance (contents / sporting goods) and are covered for any damage anywhere.

cmc599
Guns under £1000 are automatically covered on my home insurance, all mine over £1000 are declared and therefore covered. When my home insurance is up for renewal, going to see if it’s cheaper to get specific gun insurance and take it of my home insurance, but that next years problem 😂
London Best
I know a man who sold his (admittedly expensive ) guns about a dozen years ago when his insurance premium hit £15k/year. I no longer bother to insure mine.
Fellside
In the ‘ideal world’ which we don’t live in, our guns should cost peanuts to ensure against house burglaries - as they are kept in a police approved locked safe. However insurance companies will inflate premiums wherever they can, using whichever excuse they can invent. Insurance is often little more than a system of modern legalised extortion. Rant over. I always think we (collectively) are over insured as a Nation. I have the minimum insurance I can get away with.

Check your house contents policy as suggested, but there are so many factors that dictate the cost of actual 'gun insurance '. Most of the Associations include insurance within their membership, BUT, that does not cover your gun against theft or accidental damage, the cost of which, would be reflected in the value of your guns. muncher
I use one think it’s called Gunsure , was about £65 a year. I did it incase I broke the stock on my double 8 I’m insured for about 10K inside and out. Just checked and it’s Gunplan insurance. I should have added that it did not cost me any extra to add my firearms to the insurance. The only stipulation was that any that are valued over £2000 if I remember correctly, had to be listed. This includes any accessories fitted to the rifle - scope etc. Three of my rifles are listed due to the value of the them with the accessories fitted. Downforce
Just be careful you read the policy carefully and understand exactly what is covered under which section on a house policy. I had a handmade browning that I was told should be declared as a “valuable” but when I read the T&Cs “valuables” are only insured when in the home (on my policy) so basically it was insured while I wasn’t using it (in which case it was locked in the cabinet most of the time) The answer was to declare it as a listed “sporting goods” which did have cover outside the home whilst in use
