steve_b_wales
I have just replaced the charging handle on my S&W M&P 15-22 with an ambidextrous one. Price in the USA between $26 and $35. Price in the UK £74.99 which included £4:99 (+VAT) for postage. A simple job to change but what a *********rip off. EDIT: I realise that there would have been import duties etc on parts entering the UK, but why does a $26 USD (Retail price) item become a £70+ item in the UK. This is my point I am trying to make, not that I have been ripped off, but 'we' as a whole have. Edited May 31 by steve_b_wales
Plink all day
Very frustrating but demand over here for parts etc must be minimal compared to the US market so there’s going to be a mark up. I wanted to pick up a Briley charging handle for my Beretta auto…until I saw the UK price! 😂

The replacement handle is a bit wider too, which helps.

Not a rip off, prices are clearly stated and no hidden or untoward practices. Choice is clear, so no rip off. Different countries, pricing structures, taxation ,sales policies etc. You get what you are paying for, therefore no rip off. Expensive yes, but some things are cheaper in UK. Heart operations for example!

The RIP OFF is the difference in the price of the product in both countries. Edited May 30 by steve_b_wales

Yes exactly, and if you were provided with the product you ordered you were not ripped off! Something being expensive in itself ,is not a rip off, totally different to not receiving goods, faulty goods , poor service etc. You were offered a price , accepted the price, and received the goods. You were not" ripped off".
Sweet11-87
ive got a 15-22 and the build quality is trash i changed the grip and stripped the threads as theyre tapped straight into the plastic, but its to meet a market and price point. In the US you can pick one up for $480 so about £375 over hear they go for about £750 and then people trick them out with a few hundred quids worth of upgrades. in the US the 15-22 is seen the same as the 10-22 and anything that GSG make its a toy, something you get to plink in the garden with the kids and when they break or fail they just go in the bin and they pick up another. its a totally different culture and when we try to fit them into ours you are correct the product you get for the money you hand over is a rip off. A 2 bed house in Newcastle is not the same price as a 2 bed house in Chelsea. Is that a rip off? No, it's life. Regards and enjoy your sport.
