ryle Posted August 8, 2024 Report Share Posted August 8, 2024 I think I acquired these from a friend a few years back, I believe they were 'junk' and about to be skipped but I held onto them as I was intrigued by them. Ive tried to photograph the markings on the piece with the bullet still present. (Its a hollow cartridge and the bullet is loose) They appear to read "1918 Le Cateau, 25 DIV" The other may be some sort of ornament maybe? Im guessing something to do with ww1? Normally made by bored troops … not sure on the markings, but if you could trace the origins it would add value. Collectable .. but don’t order the boat just yet. I have remembered I grabbed a big old shell casing too, Its big. Its in my garage. I'll photograph that too later.
