Fantastic Pheasant Day on our small syndicate

Recommended Posts

Our pheasants contracted a disease during the rearing season and a lot of birds were lost. Only for the diligent veterinary care of our Shoot Captain we would have lost a lot more.

We delayed the start of our season to allow the birds to fully regain condition.

Last Saturday,  30th November,  was our second shoot.

Brilliant day, lovely dog 👍🏼

Thanks. Bear is starting to slow but can be his own worst enemy especially when hunting / beating. He thinks he's a spaniel on caffeine. His face gets cut badly and he destroys cover.

I thoroughly enjoyed that. What a lovely day in great surroundings.

Bear was truly at home with those water retrieves.

Many thanks as always for posting.

Thanks OB.

Bear is a great dog now, but doesn't think as much as Ted did. Ted could puzzle things out. Ted is still about, almost 13 and almost fully retired.  I took him on a pigeon roost shoot recently and despite his age and slow speed, he still manage to out think Bear on some birds to get the retrieves in.

I Really enjoyed that Al , you don’t miss 2 much 😂, some cracking shootun and retrieves from Bear of the pheasants out of the water, well done to you both 👏👏👏👍🍷

I can miss plenty too, although I was on form that day!

I was tired and content that night and have a couple of drinks to salute the birds and the day!🍺🥃
