with the leftovers from yesterday peas whole carrots onions spuds and thickened up turned out to be a tasty stew bit rich for dumplings but mint from the leftovers gave a nice flavour

We used to have something similar for our shoot dinners on a shooting day , anything and everything was added so you never really knew what you were eating , having said that there was never any complaints and any left over was always taken home , things change and now we have game theme soups , still nice but not really the same , Yours look very nice .    MM

I would be more than happy producing a stew like yours , most of mine have followed the instructions on the side of the carton and now I am one of the oldest new kids o the block , still it's entertaining and not as cold as sitting on those thin hedges trying your best to keep warm and very often trying to keep dry at the same time:lol:

I would cook more venison, if only I could get my hands on some.

I have to make do with Abel and Cole's offerings.

If you're ever in Yorkshire give me a shout.... its a crying shame the leap from game dealer venison prices to shop shelf retail prices for venison.

@clangerman that stew looks lovely - I've never hat muntjac, but I understand that it's a very tasty meat.
