Conor O'Gorman Posted Wednesday at 18:32 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 18:32 BASC is reviewing the consultation and we will respond, and we may also put out a call to action on this.
London Best Posted Wednesday at 18:40 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 18:40 Legal hare coursing meetings with a judge on horseback and a slipper releasing two greyhounds simultaneously was a great sport and a real spectacle which never did anyone any harm. Banned through ignorance, prejudice and misinformation. A crying shame.
enfieldspares Posted Wednesday at 18:40 Author Report Share Posted Wednesday at 18:40 My point I made is of the hidden damage that this creates. That is where many a landowner will shoot dead any and all hares on their property so as to remove any fear that it may become used for illegal coursing. I hope that others that respond might also make that point. That fear of coursing is leading to the elimination hares from the countryside. Gordon R Posted Thursday at 16:08 Report Share Posted Thursday at 16:08 I attended the last Waterloo Cup - a brilliant day. After future trials were banned the landowner had all the hares killed. Victory for the antis, but a bad day for over 1000 hares.

And I would hazard it's a decent educated guess that more foxes are killed now than when hunting was legal. But then it was NEVER about animal welfare. Fox shooting with lamps and night vision is a pastime in it's own right now.
Rim Fire Posted yesterday at 09:33 Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:33 The Hare is one animal i wont shoot i think its because there is very few around my area i got three farms where there is a handful of Hares but they never seem to multiply i shoot the foxes so they don't get to the leverets
