Oly
BF Goodrich A/T's are the only true A/T's worth their money. We have a massive government 4x4 fleet at work, they've trialled most and BF Goodrich are the only ones that really cut the mustard! There are cheaper alternatives out there, but with an '03 TD5 I doubt your short of a bob or two! Plus, what's the point in putting **** shoes on a thoroughbred?!? Look online (google black circles and formula 4x4) for decent prices.
LEFTY478
Good site for comparisons and reviews here. I've got Cooper's on the Shogun and have never got stuck anywhere.

luckytrigger
Ive got Bf goodrich at's on my fourtrack and they are excellent but will be fitting coopers next time as they are a damn site cheaper to change to if you have an unrepairable puncture
pin
Which coopers? The S/T ones (M&S) ?
Troosers Too
I have to agree with the others, I've got the Goodrich ATs on my Disco & they have been excellent in our Worcestershire clay.

pin
Isn't S/T snow terrain? I'd looked at these, a load of people rate them and they seem reasonably priced.
LEFTY478
Their discription "The Discoverer S/T is Cooper’s premium all-purpose SUV/light truck traction tire that is a hybrid of three designs – all-terrain, high void and commercial traction" They have pre-drilled holes for winter snow stud, but are a general All Terrain will a 70/30 off road bias. Oly
I'd looked at these, a load of people rate them and they seem reasonably priced. They are, but you won't get 70K out of them - I had a pair of Cooper ATs and they were good offroad, but they die at about 30-40K, and they aren't half the price of BF Goodrich's ATs so you might as well save money and get a better tyre too IMO. pin
Lefty it's for the Paj, if she does 2k a year I'd be surprised!
al4x
Pin on that basis I'd consider a colway mud terrain. Dirt cheap won't get stuck and road manners don't matter too much for a shooting bus. Otherwise the BFG's get my vote they are simply the best you can get but do have a price attached. This is one of the cheapest suppliers I have found http://www.elitedirect.com/02-tyres/tyresb...%20F%20Goodrich

LEFTY478
You could try Costco for BF Goodrich, they (Goodrich) are part of the Michelin group and Costco will order any Michelin tyres you require.
Hewey
Hi Lewis, Depends on what size wheels you have on your Disco, if you have 18" rims with the 255/55/18 tyres then unfortunately BF Goodrich do not (or at least they didn't) make the AT's in that size. When I got mine then General Grabber AT2's were the only ones in that size.
njc110381
In my opinion there are two obvious choices. Either BFG All Terrains or Yokohama Geolander All Terrain. The BFG last well on the road. The Yokohama have amazing wet road grip which will not be beaten (although you pay the price slightly with wear rates). Both are equally good in the mud. I run Yokohama Geolanders, as I'm happy to pay the price of wear in exchange for road tyre like traction in the rain.
19_Ferrets
I buy all my tyres for my car and gf car from here : www.mytyres.co.uk prices are very good and FREE delivery.. the price you see Is the price you pay
paulf
BFG A/T Tried other tyres before but none come close.
game_boy
Have to say Costco is pretty good for Michelin price wise. My Fiesta ones are around the £45 mark fitted. They should be around £75 in your usual outfits that sell and fit them for you. I know its not a disco but some same price droppage should still exist. Although wouldnt fancy paying for the 18's on dad's disco, ouch! One question though, if you do buy mail order, how much should you be paying to get all 4 corners fitted with all the balancing and stuff done ? And for just the two corners ? Just so I never get ripped off in future!

The S/T ones (M&S) ? 265/70 R16 Cooper Discoverer S/T Edit: Just realised you were asking LT.... there the ones i was looking at although i have many miles worth of tread left on the goodrich at's. Pluys i only do 6k a year at the most. My work is less than a mile from the house the fourtrack is used to transport to my permissions and that is it
