wildoliver
You can't consider a trap gun without at least thinking Perazzi or the Beretta dedicated trap models. Especially if you get on well with your 686.

Baldrick
Japrite, you are a fool if you think a Lanber is a better gun than a Beretta or Miroku (Miroku and Beretta are the sport's benchmark of a good tool and a good investment). Why recommend a 3" chamber for a trap gun? When has a 3" cartridge ever been allowed at a clay ground? Japrite
i had two berettas and they have both broken their hammers and sears within a hundered cartridges, and ive never had any problems with a lanber, also the weight of 3 inch chambers is usefull to minimise the recoil
Baldrick
You must have been plain unlucky with Berettas then. I've had seven Berettas, and still have three. None of them have ever broken down. One of them has had over 100,000 rounds put through it without a major fault (other than general wear). I would have thought that the features of a typical trap gun (Monte Carlo stock, long forcing cones, beavertail fore-end, 30"+ barrels) would have been more suitable for dedicated trap shooting than 3" chambers (not a usual feature on a trap gun). Viking, get a Miroku MK38. You'll be buying one of the true classics in gunmaking design. I have an MK38 and it has never let me down. And I could sell it tomorrow without much worry about depreciation.

bobby t
Miroku Mk38 and you wont go far wrong as far as trap is concerned. i think there probably one of the most sucessful trap guns ever, i suppose perrzzi and remington 1100 are up there aswell though. Flashman
Is it my imagination, but are Viking and Japrite the same person? Same spelling & grammar (or more correctly, lack thereof), both newish members, both strident in their views. It doesn't change the relevance, or otherwise of their comments, except I had Viking pegged as a mentalist, not a schizophrenic...

Baldrick
I too wondered about the troll likelihood. I thought I would wait for a consensus. Seems like the verdict's out. And Mung, thanks for clarifying your view on Lanbers.

And Mung, thanks for clarifying your view on Lanbers. Yes, good point, well made. Will add this to list of recognition marks, such a big hoop earring, shaved & tattooed head, possession of the wheels recently stolen from my car... Mungler
My first gun was a 1984 beretta silver pigeon 12g multichoke. I paid about £500 for it and fired a gazillion shells through it as my first gun. I then sold it onto LV who in turn fired a gazillion shells through it as his first gun. He paid £500 for it and sold it on for £500 to Lucky Dave who currently has it and is in the process of firing his gazillion shells through it. The gun got cleaned but has never been serviced nor has it ever developed a fault - built like grandpa's tool shed, over 20 years use and abuse and doesn't miss a beat. Also it's deprecitation proof. Anyone who knocks a sturdy second hand Beretta multichoke doesn't know what they are talking about.
