DOGS IN CARS

 A friend of mine who rescues jack russels had to take his two dogs

to work because his wifes in hospital and didnt want to leave them to destroy

the house,he parked his car an escort estate in a private compound where he

works, with all the windows open and the tailgate, as he has a second cage

door in the car. At 3pm today he was called out to the compound by his boss

and met by an RSPCA warden and two policemen, they had received a call from

a customer who had seen the dogs in the car,and rang them at 11am this

morning, the RSPCA warden greeted him by saying I thought you would have

known better, obviously knowing who he is by the rescue service he offers,

and started to lecture him about dogs left in cars, he pointed out to them

that all windows and the tailgate were open and there was water in the bowl

iside the car and he believed there was no danger as they have good ventilation

and water, and that it is raining.IT now seems he is wrong and that they now only

need to receive a call from a concerned member of the public to warrant

thier visit,he raised his voice obviously getting angry about the situation and

some bad language occurred nosy interfering Bs etc meaning the people who

rang, the police then stepped in and cautioned him on his language and he was

made to accept an official warning from the RSPCA warden, and remove the dogs

from the car.On asking what he does with them the warden advised him to

tether the dogs to his rear towbar on the car which is perfectly legal?,BUT

didnt give a jot that both dogs were now in danger of being squashed by a

passing car etc in for repair. He then asked about people attending shoots and

dog shows etc and was told they would be in the same situation if a call was

received. His boss let him go home with the dogs to keep them safe and is

letting him use the canteen for them tomorrow,On the way home he suddenly

realised how quick he could have been in a lot more trouble as he has a firearms

and shotgun certificate and the police had cautioned him over his bad language. :hmm::yes:

So if you shoot with dogs or attend shows or just take the dog out for the day

be very careful these warnings off the RSPCA only come once two get you into

court on a criminal offence, and it seems it doesnt need to be a hot day anymore

to put your dog at risk in the car, just a concerned nosy B.

Why are the police and the RSPCA for that mater allowed to keep

dogs in vehicles then?? They are caged indipendently but have no

more ventilation than any dog in a car..

taz.

He asked the same question and was told, We arent the ones getting reported,

Smug or what :good:

I'd go so far as making an official complaint against them for that, He was doing the responsible thing couldn't he just have lifted the secondary cage out of the car boot and then job done.

What I hate most is that now charities are run like a business very little of the donations goes towards doing good but just employing people to raise more cash. Those chuggers that try and nab you for DD's on pretty much every high street aren't charity employees but work for companies that charge the charities per Direct debit they set up at arround £80 a pop. Its all criminal and should be publicised more

Hi its a cage door type of thing thats fitted means he can leave the tailgate open,

and the dogs in the car,I was telling a mate this morning and he got a ticket at

appleby at the weekend even though his windows were open and parked in the shade.

Charities are the biggest scam going, I worked for a one as a driver and the

owner drives a new bentley and lives in a massive mansion in sunderland, his

wife is constantly plastered drunk playing the roulette tables in the north east,

and they only have the charity as income, old saying charity begins at home, :good:

If the rule says dogs cannot be left in a car then this should apply for all.

I am amazed that with obvious and sufficient ventilatioin and available water that an offence has been committed ..... more daft than the motorcycle going through a stream that we saw the other day on here.

The RSPCA is not a charity concerned with rescuing and protecting vulnerable animals. It is an increasing extreme left-wing animal rights organisation. Nobody should be surprised by this. Anybody that donates out of a concern for animal welfare is either a fool or being duped.

Can anyone remember (or have a guess) what their stance was on hunting?

Very very anti. :good:

And as for game shooting they want that banned as well.

Remember chaps do not let them in your property no matter what they say. Make them return with a warrant and a policeman and only let the people on the warrant in.

didnt want to leave them to destroy the house,

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this it just seems ridiculous to me. I like my dogs and they are well looked after but there's no way I'ld drive to work with them because there is nobody to stay at home with them for the day. :good:

Fair enough if he lives in a flat and there is no garden for them, but I lived in a flat I wouldn't bother with a dog .

Why didn't he bring them to a kennel for a couple of days or give them to someone to look after. They're dogs not children!

Don't get me wrong I have no time for the RSPCA or the ISPCA as they are known over here.

But if one of my friends done something like this I'ld be telling him to cop the F-word on a bit.
