mr lee
Went to the local gun shop (kirklees guns) yesterday to buy a .17HMR. They were closed Wednesdays. Went back down today to see what .17's they had in stock. Cracking service :o and nothing seemed too much trouble. Loads of advice given and also listened to what I wanted rather than try to sell me something I didn't need. Anyway, he brought out a selection of CZ's as asked and let me handle them all for fit and feel. Ended up with the heavy barrelled one. The stock for a used rifle was mint! It was bought new near the start of this year and to be honest, it doesn't look like it has ever fired a shot. I asked what range of scopes they had and was shown new and used. However, I bought a BSA sweet 17. Designed with the .17HMR in mind. Quite a nifty bit of kit to be honest. The glass is very clear for a lower budget scope and the adjusters are all silky smooth too. Not dry slow moving ones, just nice slick ones. then mounts, a moderator, sling and 300 rounds of Remington magnums 17gm. I didn't have enough money with me at the end of the sale so paid for the rifle and mod and he told me 'no problem, just nip back down with the rest of the money when you can...' Got Mrs lee to pop the cash in an hour later. He even lent me a gun slip to pop it in to get it home as I forgot to take my spare with me. Whilst in the store he fitted the mounts and scope and even bore sighted it in for me at no extra cost. Just wanted to tell you about the new purchase but more so about the cracking top notch customer service. Too often shops get slated for bad service and only so often do shops get praised for good, so a massive thumbs up for Kirklees guns in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. B) I can't wait to shoot it now. bob300w
Nice to read a positive report about a gunshop for a change. Business being done how it used to be, old fashioned and with a bit of trust shown.

allthegearandnoidea
The gun slip was how my mrs found out I'd bought a new gun. She wasn't happy with me! Not going to make the same mistake again when I make my next purchase!

Lloyd90
How much did you pay for the gun and such mate ? You get a good deal ? I like the look of those BSA Sweet 17 scopes, what did you pay for it and is it any good ? I read reviews some of which are great and some are terrible, seems to be the same story for everything on the net.

MM
BSA sweet 17's are a pile of ****e - you can get a lot better for the money - honestly fair enough, but you might want to give a bit more info than saying they are ****. whats wrong with them? do they squeek? do they let in too much/not enough light? im not shooting you down, but its nice to find out problems before someone else goes out and has the same trouble you have. Good stuff. I was well on the way to persuading the misses I needed a new rifleuntil her dentist tol her she needs $6000 worth of dentistry. Great! Her teeth look fine? She needs two root canals and some other minor things (not that two root canals are minor). You thought that the NHS was bad!!!!!!! Oh! The private dentistry is so expensive here! They are really bad in low light, the so called ballistic calculator is no good and they aint to hot when you turn the mag up either.
