drut
Don't clean the barrel but always clean the end of the bolt & chamber. If I don't I seem to get frequent extraction problems with Winnie subs due maybe to wax coating deposits. Stour-boy
Come to think of it I have had my CZ for two years now, is used almost every week and I have never cleaned the barrel yet and it still groups well. With previous rifles BSA and Anshutz .22lrs I religously cleaned the barrels but had to put about 20 rounds through to get them back to reality. bob300w
10/22. 18,000 plus through it, barrel never cleaned. Action, yes.
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
I don't clean the barrel, in fact I don't clean anything except the bolt. I suppose I ought to clean the chaber, maybe one day. With the bolt I don't clean every use but when I've been to the range I squirt wd40 over the outside, in the nooks & crannies then up any & all holes (fireing pin) to flush crud out of the inside, then a squirt to wash the outside again. I then squirt gun cleaning // lube stuff in the holes & outside, store in an old CCi ammo box lined with tissue. I allso twist the bolt to the fired position for storeing. Dunkield
Depending on what/where you are shooting you may be better off with subsonics. Most of the advice above would have been relating to subs as the bullet heads are lead.

MC
There are obviously 2 schools of thought on this one. Do you clean or don't you. The only way to ensure your barrel is consistent is to clean it thoroughly before you shoot it. You can only have a consistently clean barrel, not a consistently dirty one. That said I never clean my .22 Anschutz target rifle and that is shot after shot consistent. I know several very good rifle shots who will spend a long time scrubbing and swabbing ouit a barrel before each shoot.
A Sick Old Man
I bury my CZ in the compost bin when I have finished shooting ( It has a home office approved lock) I find the coating of GlooP and strands of rendered plant matter makes for a far smoother action, if it starts to get a bit scratchy I boil up Offal and Lard and give it a good soak. They are like Land Rovers, they work better when they are caked in tons of ****
Dunkield
So does anyone only ever use high velocity rounds, and if so do you clean it as you would a centrefire or not?
deadeye ive
Well I have just trawled through this thread and I haven't seen the one comment I'd expect about the .22lr from Mark Bivvy A .22lr is like an Essex girl .......They like it dirty so there you go
