tinytim38
Hi, been after a well educated fox for 6 weeks now , he was too close to one of our pheasant pens for his own good Tried lamping, calling, waiting seen him most days but not able to shoot for one reason or the other, put a lamp on him and he would run like The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were after him , same result if you tried calling Went out with my son Chris on Thursday night, at 9pm he had his 12 bore with him loaded with AAA's in case he came in close and running, I had my .243 rifle, couple nights prior we put a bait station out with a good bit of the warreners last sniff maskining sent  around it for good measure. We had been laid up in the hedge for half an hour 220 yds from the baitstation when charlie came out of the wood towards the scent , gave him a short squeak he took no notice just kept walking moved another two yards I gave one loud short squeak, he stopped and looked in our direction, I put crosshairs on his head and sent a 55grain fedral nosler ballistic tip towards him, they should carry a health warning for foxes

njc110381
You sure it's dead? Nice shooting. It's good to read about a skilled hunter taking a clever one. I've never had any trouble around my way, they always seem to run in quite happily. Maybe we just don't have many poor shots around here?
