Off to Florida for 22 nights in a few days time, I want to have a shot on a range with a semi auto pistol.

Can anyone recommend the best and suggestions on the cost of say 50 rounds etc etc.

Also do you need to take FAC, Driving License or Passport?

Cant remember exactly what it cost us when we went last year, if i remember it was around $100 and for that we got to shoot the following:

50 cal barret rifle (10 shots)

50 mounted heavy machine gun (75 shots)

various pistols from 9mm .45 .38 (5 mags with each gun)

M16 - M14 (3 mags with each gun)

M1 garand (12 mags) (WW2 rifle, that was my favourite)

9mm full automatic glock (3 hi cap mags)

Russian Sub machine gun (9mm 10 mags)

Also included a burger and chips all in the price...

Im off there on the 28th Sept so will be calling in probably on more than one occasion

Edit: forgot to mention that "NO" you dont need any type of FAC lisense, but they do ask for photo ID, just to clarify age i think.... have a good time :/

Where abouts are you staying while in Orlando,i'm currently staying on International drive. The nearest to me is Oak ridge gun shop haven't been yet this time but will do before i leave at the end of the week. It's a fairly basic shop and range but if you want to shoot a pistol or two it'll be fine, they usually charge to rent the pistols and ammo on top.

Flying out myself Sunday for two weeks, I have been to several ranges.

www.aphf.org (about 40 minutes Drive on way to Kennedy)

I am planning on visiting the East Orange Shooting Sports but they dont allow lone shooters on the range so will have to take missus.....

We shot at OakRidge last time in florida. You'll need ID which they hold onto until your finished.

You will also receive basic instruction, loading , unloading, jams, correct stance, etc

I have some Vids whilst there, i'll try to upload them later for you to laugh over.

Below is the email i had prior to visiting which will give you guide pricing

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best time is usually in the mornings. Below is what I usually tell our

customers about the range.

We are an indoor gun range open to the public. We have been in business for

over 22 years and we've moved into our new 7 stall air-conditioned facility

at 6160 S. Orange Ave. in the past year.

We charge $12.00 to shoot on the range (unlimited time) which includes your

eye and ear protection. We allow up to two extra people to share the same

stall for $10.00 each. We have over 20 firearms available for rent for

$20.00. You can shoot all of our rentals for the one fee; however, you can

only take one at a time in on the range. We offer free basic firearm

instruction when you rent a firearm from us. If you would prefer a one on

one lesson with an NRA instructor, we also offer that for $20.00. Ammo

ranges from $4.98 to $20.00 for a box of 50. Targets are .30 to $1.75 each.

No reservations are needed but you do need to bring some form of I.D. with

you. We welcome tourists. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent

or guardian.

We are located approx. 10 min. from Orlando International Airport, Florida

Mall and the north end of International Dr. and about 25 min. from the

Disney Area Hotels and Kissimmee. Our hours are Mon. - Sat. 9:00-9:00 and

Sun. 11:00-6:00.

It usually runs about $30.00 per person to shoot on the range when there are

two or more depending upon how much ammo you use. We'll see you next week.

Thank you,

Jeannie

Cheers. Is Oakridge pistols/handguns only? From what little digging around I've done the ranges I've found don't have any rifles. Would be a shame to not have a pop on something automatic...!

They have various rifles (Semi) short vid below of the range...

The missed Head shots were the girlfriends by the way before anyone calls me blind.....lol
