Being talking to a mate of mine today he returned his shotgun certificate for a change of address 7 months ago and got it back on Friday .

We moved last January (2013), got my SGC back about 2 weeks after the FEO's visit but my FAC took a couple of months as they decided to dispute the conditions for my section 1 shotgun & slug use (practical shotgun/target shotgun). The fact that those conditions were put on by themselves only a few months earlier made it almost unreal!.

Fortunately my club reminded them that they'd had the exact same argument with them a couple of years ago and once again pointed them towards the relevant guidelines etc. (which is what they used when they put the conditions on in the first place!). Got it back eventually with the exact same conditions on it that it went in with.

Typical Durham, no idea what they are doing and happy to waste valuable time and money on things that are either not required in the first place or just think (I use the word "think" very loosely here!) should be applied.

Nottinghamshire Police.

Sent in application December 3rd and just received certificate in the post yesterday, March 1st! YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Nice one mate, I am pleased everything was good for you.

I hope we can help others in the distressing waiting time they have to suffer with applications.

Any updates lads and lasses ?
Although I am off "the waiting list" I am curious to see time scales and updates from firearms licensing departments around the UK.
Please keep us up to date with current licensing issues.
Although this post is a old one it is still working years after it began !
Why spoil a good thing. ?

Rang yesterday was told it's still with the supervisor for decision ,that's 5 weeks on the supervisors very big desk

It must be an enormous desk!.

My sons went in about 6-1/2 weeks before yours, they still haven't contacted his second referee or three of the four clubs we're members of.

Looks like I'll have to ring them Monday as well.

Sent an email this morning notifying them of a sale and asked what was happening with his application as it's now been 126 days.

Got a phone call 2 mins ago about ................. an email I'd sent a month ago confirming we were members of a full bore club!.

So, asked what was happening as it's been over 4 months, apparently it's with the manager, can I hang on, apparently it's with the review team and they haven't forgotten us.

So basically no further forward than I was before.
