richhill
Police Force: Gwent Police Posted: 18th July 2014 FEO rang to make appointment: 1st August 2014 FEO Interview: 8th August 2014 FEO spoke to referee: 22nd August 2014 Received SGC in post: 6th September Total Weeks: 7 weeks My thanks to the Gwent Police FEO that visited, Steve Rowland, who was very helpful and a very nice gentleman. Left me his card at the end of the interview, told me there and then that he was going to recommend my application be granted and said that if ever I wanted advice, to give him a ring. What made this process even more remarkable, is that this was all done in the run up to and during the NATO Summit in Newport, Gwent, when Gwent Police/Firearms Dept were being stretched to the limits....!!! Well done Gwent Police and thanks..!!!

stevehaskew
Confirmed today that I have the grant, however due to shipping delays for my cabinet I won't get the actual certificate until FEO inspects next week. That makes it 9 weeks start to finish. Not bad!

Beardo
Hi is anyone from hertfordshire on here... just wondering how long it takes from start to finish to get sgc thanks. We're lucky in that we have a decent fast acting firearms team here. I honestly can't remember how long it took (searching back on this thread, all us Herts lot took about 4 weeks), but it was pretty quick, and all my renewals have been fast and efficient
Fielder
Thames Valley here, Heard a lot of horror stories about long wait times but i put my FAC application in last week of January and had my Visit yesterday so just under 6 weeks so far. I've had a Shotgun Cert for about 8 years which may help. I asked the officer how long i can expect to wait to get the FAC through the post and he said he wasn't sure. Anyone else in Thames Valley know how long it takes from visit to arrival?
evolution380
Police Force: Nottinghamshire Police Posted Application: 6th June 2017Confirmed of receipt: 8th June 2017 (They confirmed once I'd phoned them to check)Interview Date:N/A Certificate Arrival Date:N/A Rejection Letter Arrival Date: N/ATotal time for application:N/A Will update in due course as and when I hear from them, speaking to the lady on the phone however expect 12 weeks as a minimum as long as there are no hiccups, if there are it will be longer. Now I wait for what seems an eternity, i hoped it would have been speedier, hopefully just doesn't want me to get my hopes up and pester before this time frame. Seeing 20+ weeks for some folk in Nottingham doesn't give me much optimism.
