Baldrick
Siberian Ibex is high on my list of quarry, principally because it is a serious test of one's fitness and ability.
Wookie
Talk about a hard question... I like the idea of Babby's zombie outbreak (but I'd want a katana as a backup, and I think a 12 shot Extrema 2 for the shotgun), but I think the perfect shoot would be a three day stalk through the veldt or across the plains of southern Africa, carrying all your own kit and a .577 nitro express double barrelled rifle, just to take the perfect shot at the right time, making a clean kill. I'm not sure what that animal is, but I think I would be happy with pretty much anything after a three day stalk. I would treasure the feeling, the memory, everything. Every second of it. Cape Buffalo is what you're after. I assure you that nothing beats it - it is proper adrenaline-pumping, ringpiece-twitching shooting. I prefer a double .470 NE (5,000ft/lb per barrel is sufficient for anything that walks this earth). The .577NE gives you a shoeing nearly equal to the damage it does to your target. The .577NE gives you a shoeing nearly equal to the damage it does to your target. When I first started shooting I went to Holland and Holland's shooting ground for a lesson - while I was there we heard this almighty bang, I said to the instructor 'christ, what was that?' he replied, ''That's a bloke that has come down to test fire a .600 express, if he hasn't got brain damage for wanting to fire the thing he soon will have once he fires it''
Baldrick
I've fired a .600NE several times, Chris. In a heavy double rifle, when your stance is correct, it's just about manageable. You really only need a rifle like that for stopping a charging bull elephant (a rich fool's game), and in those limited circumstances, the recoil is the least of your worries. ChrisNicholls
I seem to recall (it was a long time ago) that he said the rifle weighed 13lb-14lb - would that sound about right? perhaps it was more. I do remember him saying that if it's not seated in the shoulder correctly it would quite possibly break it.

I do remember him saying that if it's not seated in the shoulder correctly it would quite possibly break it. My .470NE weighs 14.5lb. I'd expect a .600NE to weight at least that, and hopefully have a mercury recoil-reducer hidden inside the stock.
njc110381
My dream isn't about posh rifles or travelling miles to shoot a rare species. What I've always wanted is my own cottage on a wooded small holding somewhere. As long as it had enough land to get a few high seats up and space some Deer licks in an appropriate place to bring them in I'd be more than happy. With a lot of hard work on my part by the time I retire there's a real chance I could make it there

Tommo
2000 yards?!!! **** me - i'd rather see the whites of their eye's !!! ha ha lol. My dream is not too far from Nic's, a cottage in Scotland l thought (with a second home in Ibiza - gotta do something in the summer!) Edge of the highlands, forests, rivers (deer and salmon/trout) Perhaps work with the Forestry comm with control etc. Would also like to go on a few big game hunts like Baldrick has mentioned - fathers family's from Serbia/Montenegro area so l might be in with a chance! Other idea is to move to somewhere like Croatia (or somewhere in that area) Ski one day in the mountains and then sunbathe the next on a beech - Boar hunting/mountain goat/wild cat hunting all on list!
