Hi I have a bad shoulder so its an auto for me, been looking & holding guns I love the feel of the urika 2 in synthetic, also the M2 comfortec,

I know the decision is mine but has anyone shot both I'm looking for a nice smooth gun... on paper the gas ram of the beretta should be smoother than the mechanical M2.... but there's nout like shooting both.

The Weldon gun room said i can shoot both there so thats what I'm gonna do cant wait!

anyone know of any issues with either of these guns

PS I love to clean so thats not a problem

thanks Ken.

I have the Ulrika 2 with the recoil damper system, this gun gives very little kick, on first use, and I found my self leaning into the shot as you do with shotguns and after firing stepping forward, the gun is well balanced and very nice to hold.

As I have said many times on here before.

If your planning on shooting big loads 3" - 3 1/2" get the beretta, with gas system.

If your planning on shooting smaller "pigeon" loads, get the benelli, with comfortect inertia system.

Hands down the m2 is the best semi on the market!

With my knackered shoulders I too wanted a semi-auto. On paper I wanted the Benelli, but certainly wanted to look at both. Having handled the Urika and the M2 Comfortech I kept going back to the M2. It was the M2 that made it into my cabinet, and I am hoping to use it for the first time either tomorrow or next week.

Basically, I found the Urika felt bigger and heavier in my hands, but then I am of slight build and really appreciate things that feel smaller/lighter.

Also, for my use I intend it to spend more of its life in the field rather than on the clays, and so the M2 with a 26" barrel seemed the way to go.

I have a urika, synthetic stock, 26" barrel as my pigeon/rough gun it feels heavy to carry but handles well when you put it in your shoulder. I had a 390, urika 20 bore and an extrema 1 before that and it's the best one so far. 26" barrels are rare in a urika, more common in an extrema for some reason.

A friend of mine bought an M2 for a shooting trip to Scotland, he didn't get on with it. I had a look at one on FAC (7 shot) and didn't like it- short stock and too light- just didn't feel right. I'm going for an FAC extrema 2 (much better than the original) when I can find one to replace my urika. This is only because you can't get more than 4 shots in a urika otherwise I'd have it converted.

Beretta's are also easier to unload than any other auto I've had experience with.

Cheers

Bought my Beretta Urika 2 synthetic stock new 2 weekends ago and cant get enough of it!!! Fantastic gun for skeet and sporting clay that i shoot. I use ELEY first 8's 28g and ejects them perfect every time. Hardly any kickback. Had loads of people come up to me asking to have a go lol

However if you do decide and are intrested in a Benelli super sporting semi auto i have a mate selling one 2nd hand. Only had 300 carts through it. Its the carbon fiber look alike one.

I finally had a chance to use an Extrema 2 last week and i have to say it is a nice gun. In terms of recoil reduction it does have a slight edge over the M2 comfortec but in all other aspects i prefer the M2. Handling, weight, balance, maintenance and looks ;)

Its you choice though and WGR are going to give you a go of both you can make up your own mind :innocent:

Choose life. Try both, and ignore whatever is recommended.

At the end of the day neither of these guns are **** are they?! It all comes down to personal preference

Choose whichever one fits you better and that you think looks the coolest ;)

I've got a benelli, love benelli and wouldn't want anything else - but that's just me ;) It's light, has F all recoil, it's fun and it looks the dog's :innocent:

Beretta shoots softer for sure, but the M2 is a great gun, I really like mine and it has been faultless even though it has got very muddy on occasions. They are on the short side for some. You really need to try both guns, pardon the pun...side by side. Obviously fit has a lot to do with felt recoil.

Boomstick, i love your replies, very knowledgeable you are. :good:

Totally agree with the above, I have said it many times on here, i have had both the beretta and the benelli for me the benelli is the one, i absolutely love it, would'nt swap it for any other gun.

that's only my opinion though, so as above what suit's me might not suit you and vice versa.

give them both a try and good luck with whatever your choice turns out to be.
