Catamong
Did somebody say this was the PW Daddy decider shoot..?? Are we all going to have a little "mung style" wager..?? Cat.
Mungler
Did somebody say this was the PW Daddy decider shoot..?? Are we all going to have a little "mung style" wager..?? Cat. No Cat, that was held in your absence at Copfurn. Besides, this is your local Cat. You know the owner and fondly call him "Dave". Indeed, you love him and have tried to get him to change his name to Cheryl (your maiden name). Out of interest then Cat, what betting terms are you offering? I would expect you to take into account the fact that you are shooting your home ground, are ex England, put a gazzillion miles on your car chasing registered events of this nature, have been shooting for longer than all of us put together and will be shooting against some committed hay balers (who you are most disparaging about) and yours truly who has held a shotgun license for but 3 years. I would expect a clay a stand?

I would expect a clay a stand? Well, if it was held at Copfurn.......who won it..?? It's hardly my "local" ground, it's only 86 miles from my house, and I probably have to travel past about a dozen other grounds on the 4 occasions I've been there in the past year. So, I take that as a "no"........hmmmm, thought as much. Cat.

One clay per stand, that's 2 x 15 = 30 targets, my goodness, I'm not that generous. I'd be accused (rightly so) of taking candy off the proverbial baby if I took £50 off you, let's just agree that the loser buys the bacon rolls next time we meet..?? Cat. Mungler
What about 1 clay for every 2 stands then? 15 clays isn't very many at all over 200 birds at your home ground where your mate Dave Cheryl runs it.

Catamong
1 sleep to go, and we still haven't heard from Cat about a bet. No doubt he will pop up once the scores are out? No way, we need to have a bit of an incentive to shoot well, so here's what I suggest. If I shoot to the mid point of my classification (AA), I will shoot a 168. If Mung shoots to the mid point of his classification, (A), he will shoot a 157. Note that I've used the mid point, not the best or worst, so there's a bit of leeway there. :( For every target that I fall short of 168, I will pay £5 to a charity of Mungs choice, if he does likewise to a charity of my choice. So, if I blow out bigtime and shoot an MC style 140, Mungs charity will benefit by £140. That way, I don't get harangued and accused of fleecing a "straw bale newbie" at a ground I've shot all of 4 times over the last year. Sound good to me. Cat. MC
I reckon that if you blow out big time and shoot a B class score then you should double you payout. After all as mung keeps pointing out you have covered thousands of miles and spent lots of cash to reach where you want to be. You should be able to shoot above your class really, after all you have had plenty of practice at registered birds. I have only ever shot one resistered shoot and am in B class, you on the other hand have shot 100's and are in AA
Chard
Shoot well, all you PW chaps Hope you all have a good day. I wish I could get down there tonight, but I've got too much on now, and I'm too skint and I've done more shooting lately than is good for my marriage Make sure you don't do an "Essex Masters" and get all nerved up on the first stands. Look forward to the report
Mungler
1 sleep to go, and we still haven't heard from Cat about a bet. No doubt he will pop up once the scores are out? Cat, the simple proposition is simple - 15 clay credit for the newbie haybaler shooters, £50 each in the hat, winner takes all - yes or no? No need for a complicated reference to mid points of CPSA classifications - incidentally, me, I have only been shooting clays for 3 years and restrict myself to haybales, and according to you, all haybales and haybalers are rubbish. With regards to my "classification", my old CPSA classification was as a result of shooting just 3 registered shoots, and I only just scraped into A class. You on the other hand have shot forever, travelled the Country ney the globe for your competition shooting and of course have represented England. I cannot believe that there is but 1 class level seperating us. This cannot be the case, surely? A 15 clay credit over a 25+ stand 200 bird competition at your local is extremely generous on my part. Catamong
You're talking like a true sandbagger, desperately trying to shake off that "millstone" of an "A" classification. I'll go as far as a 12 bird credit, I take it we have a deal? Cat.
Mungler
Nope 15 birds is my absolute top end and you know that is extremely generous on my part (a 3 year haybaler). I thought you would want to look big and offer a 20 bird lead if only to be more fair. A 15 bird lead is daylight robbery on me. Mind you, if you do "a Cat Essex Masters special" then I'm quids in Oh, and no changing your name to Cheryl on the day to gain an unfair advantage. Catamong
That's a pity........I'll have to tell my nominated charity they won't be getting their £50 cheque. Shoot well guys, you'll love the layout, particularly the "other" valley where they hosted the World Sporting Championship. Cat.

Chard
Yay, I've just got a nice bout of Tendonitis in my left elbow, what brilliant timing. PDLM kicks off with an early challenge from the "Clayshooters Handbook of Original Excuses" Chapter 4, Subsection 3 - Tennis Elbow AKA Fiddlers Elbow AKA Tendonitis : A rarely used English Classic, hard to trace or disprove, must be used at least 24 hours in advance of the shoot Woop, woop and they're off! Tosspot will be along shortly to raise PDLM on the Tendonitis with an "Overdose of Viagra" causing stiffness in the lower limb
