George1990
Still haven't done any proper decoying, I need decoys but am too mean to pay the stupid prices for bits of plastic. So... will painting some 2 litre bottles matt grey and adding some nice white bits on the side and neck do the business. I see no reason why they shouldn't, but i've heard there's 'good decoys' and 'bad decoys' - so can pigeons tell the difference? Anyone tried it or something similar? Don't wanna waste me energy if they aint gonna work. Thanks
Beardo
i'm sure some of the oldies on here will reminisce about painting milk bottles as decoys. go for it!
Markio
They are expensive true but if you get the standard non-flocked ones i think they are about £2.50 each, just buy 2 at a time when you go to the gun shop to pick up carts etc then you'll have plenty before you know it. crazyfarmerboy
as above, old grey gutters lose thier shine, just add some white bits and make a rough shape, good luck

groach1234
I have some decoys but rarely use them, i prefer to use dead one and they work very very well for me, i can't help but feel they must be better than decoys. just freeze them or go out roost shooting the night before if you can hope the bottles work mind B) George

chrispti
There was an article in a shooting mag a while ago, where all the essential kit for a days decoying was purchased for under £500, including a gun and carts! He made the deecs out of 2ltr pop bottles, painted grey. If I remember rightly he didn't have a bad day out either.
