Windknot
It's a .250 Savage necked down to .22 caliber, hence twenty-two two-fifty.
stephen72
22-250 is what we over here call them, got one and very good round. the bigest problem is it gets hot to fast, like twenty rounds an hour and it gets very hot. 223 I can shoot about forty times an hour till it gets to hot! have fun Stephen
Baldrick
I call it a 'treble two fifty'. I probably sound like an American for doing so.

MC
What do you call a .22LR then? Is that a twenty two? or a two two? Surely it is two two, two fifty? IS it a three oh eight or thirty eight? three five seven of thirtyfive seven?
The Burpster
Anything after the . is expressed in its pure form as it is part of a whole number, so .22 is two two. The 250 is a whole number after a hyphon therefore is two fifty. I'm probably the only **** that refers to .270Win as point two seven ....... :look:
libs
always spoken about it as the twenty-two, two-fifty. Call a .22 a two-two, a .243 and two-four-three. Its just too long I guess to call it a two-two-two-five-ohh. What do people call the .30-06. I have heard thirty aught six, thirty ohh six and three double ohh six.
