Clay shooting - rain - umbrella?

Hi All,

Is it considered a little odd to use an umbrella between stands and whilst waiting when clay pigeon shooting? (like golf?)

My boss wants me to go with him tomorrow lunchtime for a few clays but it's forecast to rain fairly heavy off and on.

I don't mind the weather and getting wet, but he is a little more particular than me.

Cheers

Chris

I don't recall anyone ever commenting along the lines of the "Wally with the Brolly" However, I must admit whilst I don't normally carry a brolly, there have been times when I wished I had.

Bottom line, I'd say it's up to you. Normal rules regarding the use of brollies apply of course.

I used one a couple of months ago and got the whatsit ripped out of me by the lads I shoot with. However it was odd that by the end of the shoot there was a sizable group attempting to get under it while waiting to shoot. Also it was handy to keep the cards dry so they didnt resemble paper mache after 7 stands.

Personally I dont think there is anything great about getting wet and cold so use any way I can to avoid it.
