  1. I bought the same type from ebay, .001gram. and i bought a set of lee balance scales. i get on well with the lee scales. i throw the powder to within o.5grains with the lee powder thrower and then trickle the last .5grains with a homemade ticklers. i can test all my powers on the digi scales and their bang on so im happy either way. i only use the lees now as its how i have it set up. £20 on a set of lee's then see how you get on, if you dont like then someone will take them off you for the same money so you havent lost anything. Phil.
  2. you beat me to it. great shooting but why do you all need to fight over the same birds when you have a good number coming in. if you spoke with American accents then i would understand.
  3. because you let her maybe. you know the sort of area that the droppings are so pop on slip lead and correct her accordingly. my lad was the same but after a week or so and carefull walking i had it sorted. will not eat anything when out and about. not even the best beef on the shoot. will only eat when we say
  4. Black if you can. i have had both and found, as already stated, that the camo rubs off and chips in time. the black is just black and i wash mine in the kitchen sink. hehe. then an oiling and we are done. one other thing with the camo ones is that you cant see any scratches or rust as there easy over looked. Phil.
  5. Front this is the front one and the back one. have a look on the underside of your stock and see if there is a plug or a hole of about 10mm. if there is then you will need is like the uncle mikes Uncle Mikes ring GMK and they should be able to sort you out...... ....and your wallet Phil
  6. Bench!!! whats that all about? I use a block of wood on my knee while watching TV.lol. Im not joking.lol. Good to know its nothing to worry about, i changed from a metal hammer over to a wooden tent peg mallet from go-outdoors.
  7. I reload my 222 with a big wooden hammer and a few bits of metal from Lee. i **** myself every time i smack a primer into its pocket. one of these days im know the seating rod is going to end up in the ceiling and my ears are going to bleed from the ear bashing from the wife.
  8. is the illuminating bit the older twist type with the numbers on or the newer press button with + - on it. Im after the newer one to go with the others i have on rifles.
  9. which nighteater is it matey. is it the slim line luminated ones? Phil
  10. NJC and myself were taking about baiting lights just last week. evilbay is your frind. £2.99 but you need to change the LED's for green or red as the white my just spook charlie.
  11. I binned two yesterday but I have a few in the freezer in their pelts if you want to trim the hair off. im in gloucester.
  12. their not that easy to make in your shed as you need industrial sewing machine and a welder sewing machine to sew the pockets for the wings and the welder to make the T brackets and connection tube I borrowed a hyper flapper and just copied it. there lots to it but if your the type that can look at something and then go make it then it is very easy. i hate buying things and like making my gear, when it works its a good feeling.
  13. thanks guys for all your well wishes, very much needed at the moment. I have siad to the wife that if i have to change to the left then i will sell the rifles and just try the shotgun for a bit but i will also be buying a couple more pups and just spend my time training and working them. after all its not their fault, it was mine for being lazy by not wanting to walk back to the wine bottle and i just refilled a pint glass red, then starting play with puppies and my reactions were a little slower than normal, one pup dived up on me and hooked the eyeball with her claws. more than anything is im gutted about beaters day.lol. i'm still going and picking up and beating for the rest of the lads. as long as i can stand the day light that is. Phil.
  14. It was the younger one out of the two in Ophthalmic. i have forgotten her name. the older one yesterday was a bit more positive but not much. something about shaving the eye to get it smoother. Im going to see what happens over the next few days/weeks and then if im still not happy i will go private nad see if i can see again. i just went walking the dogs in the fog. it was great as its how i see now anyway.lol. Phil.
  15. Been working the dogs on this one shoot all year. this year is the last year so should be a good beaters day. or so i was hoping. beaters day is on thursday next week. i have picking up tomorrow on there for the last time. well that was the plan. Sunday night the pup jumps up and puts her claws into my right eye. spend Monday in hospital in casualty and then onto emergency eye ward. im treated and sent home have had to go back Tuesday and wednesday, spending most the day in there each time. i have 3 claw marks over the eye with one of them being over the retina. then some french doctor tells me that how my sight was on wednesday will be how it will always be due to the way the damage is and glasses will make no differance. i have double vision on the one eye were im trying to see around the scar but at best its a blur of colours. i have been out last week to get some cartridges for the high birds and even cleaned the shotgun but as it stands at the moment i cant shoot. if i can see and walk without falling over then im still going to go and work the dogs but it looks like im either going to have to learn left handed or guns are going to a better place. someone said to me 'never mind at least i still have my health' well if you call a ******** back, a knee thats on the replacement list, lactose and gluten intolerant and one buggeder ear and a ganglion on the wrist good health then i must be missing something. my god, what else can go wrong. sorry, its been a pants day.lmao. Phil.
  16. if you can get stuck in with the 12g then great stuff but if, like me, its a sound issue and a sensitive area the a 22lr to the base of head/top of neck works best. if you just head shoot them i find they flap all over the place and put the rest of the birds up. hit them when i said and they will just slump on the spot. 4 was the best we did with rifle before the others got up. good meat in the slow cooker as well.
  17. i have had hawks attack the deks many times. i have even had a pigeon come land next to a dead bird on a cradle and up on its back and start mating, needless to say that we left the pigeon finish before matey shot it. i did also see a bird fall out the sky after a tried to shoot it, very strange and rear occurrence for me i tell ya, never happened again since even though i keep trying to duplicate the situation. i have also see one person put 30 bullets down the barrle to a rabbit in the middle of a field. the eyes glowed bright but he just couldn't drop it. he went home in a huff as he though his scope was out. yer right course it was.lol. turned out to be a dew drop glowing in the red filter of the land.still makes me laugh.
  18. I have made my own hyper flappers in crow and pigeon. been using them for 3-4 years and still working well. i have made my own magnets but now i own a pinewood as it was a bargain. i make my own sillosocks that work well in pigeon form. i just have to get my bum into gear and do the crows flock coat my own shells make my own spring sticks and lofting hooks make my own excuses up for missing the easy birds and not seeing the rest.
  19. thicker rod in the crow. if you watch a crow you will notice its wings are very straight a slow when flapping and then mostly riding the air currents and thermals, when it lands it drops in to a spot. a pigeon flaps like ******* and doesn't glide much, when it lands it will glide in and then pop up into the wind and land. two very differant ways of flight. i use the thin fibre rod in both birds but then i tape more rod to the wing section of the crow so the movement is from the body of the flapper. the pigeon i leave with thin rod.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcu2zOfX6V0 take down.
  21. all my C/F and rimmies are buy 500, hold 600
  22. Nice to see differant breads in the hide but be a little careful, at 7 months old his hearing hasn't fully developed so good chance of deafness before time. but at end of day your dog your choice
  23. have a look around a few other forums as well as there is always someone doing a bulk from CZ and passing the savings on. i have a few and only paid £5 for one and £10 for other so they are out there
