i get a days shooting out of a 7Ah battery in the winter and then a 12Ah will give me a full summers day with no problem, but then i dont use a windscreen type motor in the rotary.

I use to but over the last few years i havent bothered. i shoot my fair share of pigeons. i have found its movement thats the key. i have on many day, just sat in the edge with not net at all and still shot birds. having said that, that most important thing is confidence. if you think it will help then it most probably will help something.

Nick, good to see you on-line, have you the problem sorted or are you on the good ladies i-pad? If you can work a meat list i will do what i can to fill the orders. I have a 22lr, 17 hmr and a 222, im about to drop the hmr as the 222 does the same and more. i can take the odd muntie with the triple and i can shoot rabbits with the same damage as the hmr, head shoot every thing and no problems. reloading is as cheap as the hmr once you have the kit. 20p a click for hmr and 31p for 222. Is it easy to reload for? i use to reload with a lee reloader. you make the rounds up with the help of a Hammer. clover leaf at 100mtrs with the right nut on the butt. this calibre must be one of the easiest and most forgiving there is for reloading. whether it is start loads or max loads, it makes no differance out to 100 meters. so reloading with start loads works on my budget. The 222 tikka T3 with a Pez T12 is as quite as a hmr as well. not a cheap moderator but worth the money. you will need, soldering iron. solder. wire cutters/strippers. rivet and rivet gun. heat shrink or electrical take. (heat shrink is better) 10" of wire. 1 zip tie 1, Put switch into its hole and tighten into place. 2, take one wire from switch, any wire and push up the lamp housing and out where the bulb holder sits. 3, solder the wire from switch to one of the bulb wires. (cover bear soldered wires with tape or heat shrink) 4, solder 10" of wire to 2nd wire from the bulb, (cover soldered area with tape or heat shrink) 5, thread the curly wire from the battery, in throw the red base plug of handle. 6, solder (-)wire from the curly lead to the other end on the 10" wire. (tape or heat shrink soldered area) 7, solder the other wire of the curly lead (+)to the one wire thats left on the switch. (tape of heat shrink solder area) 8, zip tie the curly wire on the inside of red plug to stop it pulling out. 9, put bulb holder into handle and pop rivet in place.

you could just do like a mate of ours does, shoot for crop protection and leave where they fell for the fox. BB, the problem you have with rabbits is that they bread all year round so you will get them from time to time. i dont worry about it anymore as the way i see it is that you have taken 4-5 rabbits out in one go. the one that always gets me is milky doe's i do switch off but i cant help thinking about the possibility of dependence left in the next somewhere. im the same with pigeons as well but i think its because i care and think about what i shoot and not just a brain dead killer with no heart that kills without thought.

2 reasons the a dimmer works for me. one is that i have lamp shy foxes on the land from dog men. as soon as hit with light they run, with a red filter and very low lamp i have more chance of getting a cross hair on them. other reason is you can dim the lamp and use less power out the battery. longer lamping time or a lighter battery for shorter walkarounds.

22lr, 17hmr and 222 all have Nighteaters on. works for me and has for a fair while. they say they test them with 240kg of recoil over 200 time.

Its warmer on the floor out of the wind in the grasses. we see this quit often on the fields around winter rape.

You can get a whole pack of rivets, the eye rivets and clear body ones. Give Andrew a shout at NRA fud and see if he can help after a bit you will start braking them when you shot them.lol.
