Most important person - shooter or lamper?
activeviii replied to Dead-Eyed Duck's topic in General Shooting Matters
with out the lamper you ain't seeing ****** all. your in the dark. Lamper is the main man, the gun is just a gun. bit like a pheasant shoot really. the gun gets ****** all with out the beater. -
put lamp under the rifle if your shooting off sticks. even down on the side of the scope. there is a gent called William that i have been hearing about that makes mod covers to order so i'm trying to find who he is so i can get him to make me a couple and a lamp shade at the same time. Phil

Plasic clip on tightening strap on le chameau wellies
activeviii replied to ShooterTom's topic in Guns & Equipment
I use to use point north for all my plastic bits and bobs. the buckle will be a mare to replace as there is no easy way to put one one. have a look at point north, the thing you are looking for is a 20mm strap cam buckle. hope that helps Phil. -
Scan with an on line scanner . not one that you download to the PC then it scans. if you use an internet scanner it will find it and the virus cant shut your pc. best advice stripey999 gave me and it worked a treat.

That's a right shame, all your hard work in tenderising the meat as well. oh well at least you have the one. I was in a mood until i read that so thank you.... .... brown..white..brown...white.

hoseloc spray with a bag of salt in it. top up with 1 litre of warm water to help dissolve the salt. go to beach where razors are and find their burrow, spray salt down hole and wait for the clam to come up like a Polaris to spit the salt out. grab and pull slowly.

U caller extream - users , questions and advice please.
activeviii replied to Salop Matt's topic in Guns & Equipment
stressed out is my starting one then hare. then if nothing playing i will use the other u-caller with downloaded calls. the chicken and duck calls work on fox as well. -
Yep i use one on my urika2. if pigeon shooting from a hide i will take it off but if roost shooting or walking the hedge rows with a mate and dogs then i put it over my shoulder. i have even used it on beaters days. as i pick up with the dogs for the beaters i need hands free so the sling works well. if a bird comes back over the top then i can take a shot at it.

both in short. use the realtree in winter or up against browns and dry grasses and use the green the rest of the time. i use 2 nets at one. which ever i need on the out side i then put the other inside as i find their a bit to see though.

slow cooker and treat as if its beef for adding herbs. works out fantastic.

these started off as a stainless steel shepherds whistle. i used one about 30 years ago then started to make my own. you can still by the shepherd's whistle from more farming supplies. you need to open and close your throat to change pitch. anything from a clangers type sound up to high pitch rabbit scream.

Nice bit of sport there. nice shooting to. i bet if you put them in the oven, to roast, you will not shoot any more breast them and pull the legs then slow cook or casserole in oven. nice rich sauce and roast vegetables. Mmm! got me hungry now. i might have to go for a walk myself later.

Mora all the way. Nice bright orange so you can find it. sharp, cheap and wish i bought one a long time ago, i would only have the one knife now rather than 20 odd differant ones.

because it will be just bone, no skin or meaty bits left on it.

one whistle. same commands for both but do not train together. Stop whistle is the key stone to working a pack. only train one at a time. do not train together. make sure all dogs know what their doing before bringing dogs together. once your happy that they know what the whistle means and their good with one on one, then bring them together. once their together then i will start with retrieves. both dogs sat next to me, put a dummy out and then i touch the one dog i want to retrieve the dummy, at the same time i say the dogs name and the fetch command. if the other dog moves then i put the stop whistle on, sort out the one that should have stayed then go back to the other dog to finish the retreive. this lesson also helps to stop the running in, i do not give the dogs turns, i always mix it up. sometime one dog will not get a retrieve in that lesson, the lesson for it is to sit on heal. yes it does work with one whistle. only problem you might get is one dog will be more switched on for you. my 17month cocker bitch is on the nail. the 3 yr old cocker is trying it on all the time at the moment.

Loving my T3. Its the first gun i reach for now days. if i do my bit then its a dream to use. you should have said last time you was over, you could have gone and put a few up her. IF! i ever get this variation and funds are allowing then the 6.5x55 T3 would be my first call.
