OK,do ye have to have something put in that cannot be removed at all, over here we are only allowed 3 shot,one in the breech and 2 in the magazine,but I can remove my plug in a couple of minutes and make it a 4 shot,obviously I only remove it an odd time when i'm cleaning the spring.Below is the proper plug.

Make you'r own one, I did and I can't see why a gun-smith has to fit it or have it re-proofed.It's only a plactic plug 15mm at the narrowest 25mm at the widest and 70mm long the piece of tape is only 20mm wide and it is 10mm from one end I used this one untill I found a proper one,if you'r stuck for one this will get you out of a hole.

Crowning is deffinatly the easiest and fastest way, I tried standing on the pigeon's wings and it just ended up ina mess, stick to crowning.
