  1. Want to go home? Bet you do. The trick is to fool them (morning doctor rounds) that you are fine fit and well, big cheerie smile. Good morning good morning good morning-now can I go? Better to be sore at home than in the pen. Try it tomorrow morning, they will boot you out next day. Get well soon.
  2. It's a bit weird the first few times on your own. If you don't get any then you blame yourself. Sure, chances are you may not have been as sneaky as you could have been but hey, you were there and tried. Next time you will be more familar with the trerritory and see things slightly differently. And the time after that more so etc. Pigeons are sharp eyed and very wary. I see it a bit like fly fishing-if it was easy I don't want to do it. Also it's harder on your own, if I have a couple of mates in the distance 500 yds apart at least I may get a shot at what they miss! Stick with it and you will find every time you go you learn/see a little bit more regarding your shoot. Good luck.
  3. If the barrel is choked you gotta chop it at the other end-profesionalls only.
  4. Hi, I have looked at the lights in your attatchment and see several models with roughly the same name. Which model is the one you are selling?
  5. Hi, I have many years in this business, mainly sea trout and salmon on the west coast of Eire. We could chat for a week on the in's and outs. However, if you want some sound advice I suggest you contact my local fish farm/fishery. They are very experienced in all aspects concerning rainbow and brown stocking. A small (ish) set up in the heart of the Cotswolds...Donnington Trout Farm @go-fish.co.uk Tel:01451 830873. Lol-not open mondays! They are very approachable and will help. Cheers Chris. PS your set up sounds ideal providing you have some depth to the venue.
  6. Makita for me to. Light and tough.

    Broken Knife

I would wrap the handle with suitable material and put it in the vice. Then work away gently with a file. I've done this before and with patience it came out ok.
  9. Thank you gentlemen. I have updated to the 9.3 version, hope that keeps it happy. :(
  10. Not Heron. not Cormarant, not Otter-all would have scoffed their catch then gone back for more if still hungry. Don't go to much on over stocking really, simply means the fish do not grow-small fish. Probably mink. Set a trap tonight using a roach as bait.
  11. Yep you are wrong. He has been convicted (you may rem) and was out on licence. That means he was released without serving his full sentence. Providing he stuck to the rules regarding his early parole all would be well for him. However, break the rules/criteria and back you go to serve the full term.
  12. Exactly. Just means more expense processing and locking up his assassin. Really, until we find out exactly why he is back inside there is no point arguing his fate. Revealing his identity only makes sense if he has commited or attempted to commit another heinous crime. In which case it is unlikely he will be seen again.
  13. Hi folks, I have this "thing" on my pc called Adobe reader 8. Everyday sometime or other it screws up something I am doing by telling me there is a fault and needs to close. The faults vary. What exactly does it do? Can I replace it with something else? If so how? Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's doing my head in :( Cheers.
  14. I grew up 10-15 hanging out with a Indian kid, his family are Sikh. He used to come fishing with me regular and enjoyed airgun shooting especially. Guess he was an exception cos we grew up in a small village and there was not much else to do. Later he became the lifegaurd at the local town baths-he could swim like a ruddy fish! Apart from him I seen no others in the last 40 yrs. Shame really.
  15. I lived on the west coast (Connemara) for 7 yrs, 80s-early 90s. Galway city is a great place. If it's a salmon you want to catch head for the weir. Day tickets are cheap and there's plenty of salmon. If I were you I'd head for Clare. In particular Doolin and Ennis. Sceneray is unbelievable and the people are great fun. Everything is expensive but hey-ho that's life. If it's a wife you want then head for Lissdoonvarna in September for the "match-maker" fortnight. Where ever you go it will be mighty
  16. They have no human rights in my book. They forfeited their rights the day they took another human life.
  17. USA jails are full of people waiting the death penalty. Obviously the dp is not a deterrent. Therefore it is simply revenge. In my opinion get one wrong, sentence one single person wrongly and you are as bad as them. Imagine the morning you wait for your last walk to the electric chair and you know you are innocent!!! Bloody barbaric. If it's revenge you want then life in prison means life. Hard labour from day one. No play stations, teles and drugs no-no. Hard labour paying back society till the day you die.
  18. Wish you lived near me, I'd be there in a flash

    fly rod

I am sort of interested but would need to try before I buy as with any fly rod. Where in the country are you?
  20. I have been researching binos for about six weeks or so. I have decided on a pair of Opticron Imajic TGA WP 8x42. I have looked through a pair and wow. Clear as a bell. 30 yr gaurantee! RRP 159.99. However, Cifton Cameras in Dursley Glos (main dealer) will do them for 135.00 inc cleaning kit. Seriously worth a look. Nothing compares imo under 250.00.
  21. Webley Falcon around 1966, My mate borowed it one day and cocked it so ferociosly the ruddy barrel snaped orf at the breech . Later MK1 Airsporter that served well until the mighty FWB Sport .177 arrived 1979-heaven.
  22. Cracking fish them mate especially the 20. ABU 454 Zoom?
