  1. did a full clean earlier, scrubbed with the copper brush (carefully) tho couldnt get any patches through as the jag was too wide for the 17 (for a 22) so pulled through a few times with the bore snake. ill be getting a proper hmr cleaning kit soon but hopefully thatll have it sorted
  2. thanks everyone. i changed scope mounts last night and im going to give the gun a full clean later today, the cleaning kit i have for the 22 has bits to fit the hmr (i think ) and ill stick plenty of patches through too. havnt ruled the scope out yet, im waiting on a new mount to arrive, once it comes ill fit the laser on, so if by some chance its the scope ill see the laser dot bouncing around the cross hairs next time i go out
  3. cheers mate, sorry i should have said more. theres no mod on the gun, so thats ok, second the last 25 rounds fired i did feed singly (just incase), did all the usual breathing techniques (took my time and didnt rush), accuracy was spot on on monday (7 rabbits between 60 and 177 yards and a jcb bucket at 294 yards ), and it was just a barrel job with a bore snake and bisley bore cleaner. was slight wind earlier today but for the last 25 rounds there was none, and the bipod seemed steady. also checked the crown and it looked fine, again nothings happened it between monday and today ill give it a good clean with patches tomorrow and see what happens, fingers crossed
  4. i used bisley bore cleaner so do you think the problem could be copper build up then?? edit - said eley instead of bisley edit 2 - the bisley bore cleaner is supposed to clear copper
  5. ah it was an old jcb bucket, richie stupidly said "bet you cant hit that with one shot"
  6. ive put about 300 rounds through the hmr so far so gave it a good clean last night (was told to clean it every couple of hundred rounds til its broken in). used plenty of bore cleaner (had to to get the bore snake through it) and pulled it through 9 or 10 times to get it spotless. took it out today and the first couple of rounds at 100 yards which were near bang on, but after that i was getting shotgun pattern groups thought it might have just needed the barrel fouled up a bit more but after 80 rounds the groups were still terrible. all the ammo ive been using so far has been from the same batch, and the scope seems ok; on monday i bagged 7 rabbits between 60 and 177 yards and managed to hit a target at 294 yards, the only thing thats changed is giving it a clean last night. any ideas about what might be wrong? would another clean maybe help? o should i pu another couple of boxes through it?
  7. just to say it definitely does work imo due to things happening over here lately ive been going shooting in navy blue water proofs instead of camo, im definitely getting spotted at longer ranges than i would have before
  8. look on the bright side mate, its better than the alternative, youre very lucky they caught it. my dads partner died a couple of months ago from a clot on her lung, doctors never picked up on it, they were out shopping one day and she collapsed, couldnt do anything
  9. try midwayuk.com ps good choice, guarantee youll like it
  10. going by what nick clegg said it looks like he'll want to form a govt with the conservatives
  11. go for a full size cabinet with plenty of room for more guns
  12. ive got a dpm pattern web tex rifle slip that im looking to swap for (preferaby) a black version, or failing that an olive drab version its had light use (been used about 5 times), if no-one wants to swap ill sell it for £45 inc postage

  15. eh... hoping thats a mistake, but if not, then yes, a law stopping me doing something i have a legitimate reason to do is a bad thing and if you look up the thread on here lately (cant find it) youll see how annoyed people are with it. i suppose it was designed to get blades of hoodies, but when you have people being fearful of carrying a knife as a tool in their car, etc, then something has gone wrong
  16. the tories dont have a great record on firearms legislation but dont forget labour brought in the violent crime reduction act (or whatever), giving us all the hassle with carrying a knife, and making it impossible to buy a bb gun that isnt bright pink god only knows what the result would have been if dunblane or hungerford had happened during a labour govt
  17. hopefully it DOESNT ruin their life. last time i checked we lived in a democracy, the most important part being anyone can vote for whoever they wish. it doesnt matter if its the bnp, monster raving looney party, islam uk or the judean peoples front, if you want to vote for them or become a member of the party then you should be free to without fear of it affecting you.
  18. good job, had to do something similar when we saw a cow running down a hill on one of the places i shoot, it slipped and fell and skidded under a fence into a neighbouring field was funny but it reminded me why ive avoided driving cattle like the plague since i was a kid
  19. i use red, it cuts down the visible light but doesnt spook stuff as much. on top of that doesnt mess up my own night vision like white light does!
  20. well i killed a jcb bucket at 294 yards yesterday, just going to start scaling down now to the coke can
  21. if thats the case theyll be locking up bank staff and financial advisors like theres no tomorrow!
  22. really? didnt know that... sorry, ignore me then, im just doing what most people do on here - posting on a topic i have absolutely no experience or knowledge of :o :o
