so the fact there are british people on the islands who want to remain british has no bearing on it? and as for thats about all the actual Islands are useful well i take it you didnt read the bit that they reckon theres about 60 BILLION barrels worth of oil under the sea there maybe im being simple here, but would it not help the country out financially alot if we drilled into the oil and sold it off?

forgot i never posted... worst i ever had was when i was 18, teaching some new cadets to fire the gpl98 (straight pull sa80) on a 25m range. was 4 shooters, i was watching two and another flight sgt was watching the other two. the range officer called the usual load, ready, etc, then shouted fire. i was standing right behind my two, watching everything they were doing. the guy on the left kept pulling the trigger but forgot to take the saftey off. i was about to get down beside him and help when he rolled on his back, called "sir my gun wont fire" and started pulling the trigger while it was pointed at my stomach

ive said this before, that i reckon there should be a course/test, covering everything from gun handling, safety, care, etc, (think of weapons handling tests in the military), but there should also be a bit more on quarry lists, suitable calibre's for quarry, etc, and what the kill zones are. chards right, when i got my first licence (two 12ga's and a .22lr) i had fired a shotgun only 3 or 4 times before in my life. luckily id been in the cadets at school, had been on the shooting team, weapons handling instructor, helped at ranges, etc, so i wasnt a complete noob when it came to guns, but i still had to learn alot about hunting on my own - can still remember the first time i bought shotgun carts and had to ask what would be best cos i hadnt a clue about the numbers

if you want cultural identity (and thats BOTH sides) then do what everyone else does - go out and learn it yourself, there was no class in my school about how to be an orangeman . £20 million could do a hell of alot in the nhs for starters, its a disgrace the amount of taxpayers money thats poured into both gaelic and ulster scots. anyway were digging ourselves a hole with it, how long will it be til some bright spark decides that to comply with human rights we have to not only put money into two dead/made up/politically motivated languages, but also polish, russian, portuguese, and all the other bloody languages we now have floating around the place. as for losing the crown? yep i agree its likely in time, but when that will be - months, years, decades, centuries? who knows, it probably wont matter by the time it happens. and if by some miracle the prediction of a united ireland by 2016 comes true... well, i doubt thered be much left standing up here to unite :good:

not necessarily, i know some places i have permission to shoot where it wouldnt bother me using a .50 cal to shoot squirrels out of trees shooting downhill into the tree, with a good back stop behind it (something like below) would be perfectly safe as long as you can see theres noone behind it

go trade the gun in as you wont hit a thing with it

firstly make sure accidental damage is covered, then check the terms about pet damage - i know youre just saying it was the dog so we dont laugh at you for being a clumsy eejit... check out how much it would be first though, as making a claim will knock out your no claims bonus (yes, you do get it on house insurance) and will probably knock your premium up a hell of a lot, esp the way things are at the moment send me a pm mate, let me know who ur with, might be able to help if its a certain one...

na i had to find out a couple of years back when i bought a bullpup stock for my ruger, but youre right thats why "pistols" on the mainland have those dodgy rods out the back and long barrels
-
bout the only good use for that stuff its one of our traditions that we shoot a can of beer with the first shot out of a new gun, sort of a good luck thing

northern ireland is the british part, southern ireland (republic of ireland) is the irish part. some people in the north want to be part of the south, others in the north want to remain british, thats where the problem lies. as for this bit so why would we be trying to make them speak a language that belongs to a country they don't want to be part of? thats why i said not all schools in the north teach irish - as far as alot of people are concerned its a dead language, and is used as a political tool too much by certain elements (same as ulster scots, but most people freely admit its a pile of **** )

most of it belongs to my family or close friends, at richies dads farm yard theres an old pug 106 that richie rolled not long after he passed his test, if youve ever any doubt of the capabilities of .22lr hv rounds then rest assured at 50 yards they were punching through one side of the car, travelling through the seats and puting large dents in the outer skin of the far door. thats a very sobering thought isnt it as long as its all done in a safe, legal and controlled environment then theres nothing wrong with it imo, some people on here need to realise that just because they enjoy different aspects of shooting than someone else it doesnt make it wrong. and anyway, apart from all that, its fun
-
not sure about down south but only taught in about half of schools in the north
-
are the same as far as i know. not very widely spoken, some areas in the republic of ireland its the main language, but not many mines severely limited, "faugh a ballagh" is about all i can remember at the minute

exactly!

i said at the start that some of the stuff wasnt respectul imo, BUT i did say alot of that is probably just the americans nature coming through, see = libs posted this - Quotes like "we let two get away" said in resentment, "GET HIM" talking about shooting at a bird and "good shot" said after 4 pumps of a shotgun. so i posted - and by shouting "we let some get away" not much respect imo, but how many of us get ribbed about missing a few shots? and then just remember, americans are loud and mouthy by nature (no offense) so you see alot of that coming through, cranfield posted this - to state that, "Americans are loud and mouthy by nature" is a bit like saying all English people are "snobs", rather a wide sweeping and inaccurate statement. so then i posted this - not really. as i said it was not meant to cause offence. i was merely pointing out, to put it a different way, that americans arent as reserved in their reactions and emotions as we would be - where a brit would be standing quietly with a smug smile an american would be whooping with joy and jumping about (going by the americans ive met anyway) and so we see alot of that in the video just thought id better point this out before the idiot brigade/online firearms inspectors/retards arrive and pile on me accusing me of something i didnt say (again )
