  1. How long until a massive catch and release programme is started amid huge publicity to show that the councils or governmment are doing something? The BLOODY RSPCA will be having a field day! I feel sorry for the child and the family involved.
  2. Yes It makes a lovely moist roast bird!
  3. Indeed I think you are both probably correct in your assumption that if anything is done it will be along the lines of trap and release. Just more for us to shoot out in the countryside. I can remember reports from years ago of a van load of 56 foxes released after treatment by one of the animal charities. They were so caring they let them all go in the same area!
  4. Careful, the soft cuddly liberals will be after you!
  5. Blimey that's a long sentence! You really feel you've been had over don't you? I wouldn't like to feel I've been taken advantage of and I don't think I have been. Perhaps you just got involved with a rogue.
  6. Well I'm glad you've had a chance to get that off your chest Ironhorse. I have sought out the permissions I have, I choose to go out shooting and the farmers realise that they get a free service from me and those I choose to take with me. I've never felt like you do. I've been lucky on occaisions to have been given shells by the farmer and have had time when one of them has phoned me with a crow problem which I've been able to sort out. Surely if you are not happy you should move on.
  7. Are they the H and H soft full bodied type? If so they have a hole undernesth big enough to place a hens egg in to.
  8. I see I didn't go for several reasons; 1. Working both days. 2. Been out shooting 4 times this week. 3. As was said before - £17:50 to walk round an indoor market. 4. not sure I need any more kit!
  9. So then are you NOT as tall as your username suggests?
  10. Boots always used to be cheaper!

Yes I will post as and when I get home and grab the camera, annoying thing is I have some of them in the car after this weeks shooting!
  12. Lots of empty seats at Murrayfield with less than half an hour to go!

Take a length of Steel Banding. I use between 12" and 24" cut a tang at one end and bend through 90 degrees to form a right angle. That's where the decoy will sit. Then put a blunt point on the other end to allow ease of pushing in to the ground. Then I cover then in green fabric tape to conceal them. The longer ones for taller crops even add a degree of movement to your pattern. Easy, worth the little bit of effort and will outlast all the horrible plastic varieties.
  14. In the same boat here, I've seen Pink Floyd, Genesis and loads of others but now I wont pay the massive mark up that is needed to obtain even the most basic of ticket. Nowadays we go to the smaller concerts like the cambridge Rock Festival, MUCH better value for money!
  15. Well done H-W Both my boys started with .410"s. A Belgian Star and a Webley and Scott like yours. The cheaper Star was cut down to give a stock that had a 9" pull. That fitted the little chap and gradually I added an inch on over the 3 years he used it. It became unsafe eventually and was destroyed. Still have the W+S though!
  16. I tried one once but they took so long making it, that by the time they handed it over it was nearly cold and not at all appetizing!

How many are you after and what type?
  19. On two of the farms that I am lucky enough to have permission upon I am not allowed to shoot foxes as the farmers feel they keep the rabbit population down. Mind you he isn't keen on me shooting too many rabbits as he likes to use his .22" on them. But on EVERY other farm, I shoot the fox as long as it's a safe shot.
  20. I have one of those "bits of plastic" too, what point were you trying to make Leeds Chimp?
  21. Good luck, Trading Standards should be able to advise or the C.A.B!
