  1. Sorry you had a bad day mate, very windy and wet in norfolk too. inbetween the showers i've been sniping pigeons in the farmers field. THEY'RE SO DUMB!!!!! got about 30 with my 22 before they twigged i was behind my hedge. lucky for me he still hasn't ploughed his field yet cos they do seem to like the stubble.
  2. Gets my vote! how about doing the rest of the family too? should save infecting the gene pool.
  3. haven't got a clue! does the CA do the same sort of insurance?
  4. Not quite true, the fox will leave the head as this is where the disease centres. i've shot hundreds of rabbits this summer and left half of them for foxes, when i've returned there's usually quite a few heads left here and there. you can eat the meat, just leave the head as mixy is a neurological disease i'd bone the rabbit aswell. the reason you see lots of mixy rabbits around is cos their brains are stewed.
  5. i caught myself in the nuts with a ricochet! It rilly rilly hurts! they are the most common and most dangerous round available, i was shooting into a log and the slug came straight back at me from 60 metres. a standard sub sonic slug still carries about 60 ft/lbs of muzzle energy@ 100yds
  6. very nice gun, whats the wood like? they're usually quite generous with the timber, mine had some gorgeous figuring ,wish i hadn't sold it!
  7. why cz? they feel like a kids toy. up to you mate but try a few different makes and models first if you can, the fit might help you make your mind up.
  8. No, but i kinda got carried away. i noticed all my replies got censored, so someone was watching.
  9. thought i'd been sent to the naughty corner for swearing on the forum last night. hello kev1!
  10. i have such bad manners, sorry. a belated hello to everyone! enjoying the banter. sorry i missed the meet up in norfolk, when's the next one? would like some advice on muzzle flip compensators.anyone clued up? are they any good?
  11. karma, what we do in this life echoes in the next. let's hope so eh? cos if not then these tagnuts will have gotten away with it... what's wrong with these people? why have they NO respect? are they sub-human? a new species?
  12. when i used to work in a foundry we used to put grass seed in the moulding sand of anyone who went on holiday. 2 weeks later ther would be a nice green lawn waiting for them!
  13. Get a lot of muzzle flip with it, it doesn't have as much recoil maybe,as something larger, but it does feel off balance. its also quite light which doesn't help either. got it screw cut but no mod yet, i was told fitting a mod might help, but not sure which one. what really surprised me is my FLO recommended this rifle knowing that it was my first centrefire.
  14. On a more helpful note, maybe a sound mod with a tapering end might work. some thing like a weirach mod.
  15. Don't worry, you haven't hurt anyones feelings, its just that nobody knows! is that a martini action? saw some thing like it with an under slung [off centre] mod once, chap just rotated the tube 180 deg and left just enough room to wiggle the rounds in. also have a friend with a remington semi that doesn't cycle subs, he uses it like a straight pull actioned rifle, not that this mind numbing information is any help but i felt really sorry for you cos you sound so lonely! Never mind eh, time to crawl back under my rock.
  16. remington do a straight pull AR15 called the VTR, dont know what they shoot lke but they look cool. thought about a winchester mod70? I have one in 22/250, it kicks a bit and is too fast for its own good but the groupings are good and it fits well as it has a bell&carlson stock fitted as standard. personally i wouldn't have had a 22/250 but my FLO advised that before i get onto the big stuff i might need a bit of experience first. whats wrong with browning?
  17. i'm really sorry to hear about your friend. there may be some hope, lots of people recover [if not fully] to some degree. its surprising what the brain can cope with and adapt to. i had a stroke last year while having heart surgery, having friends and family around really did help. i'm almost back to normal,
  18. Hi there, i started a topic on benelli semi's a little while back. the general concensus was that the M2 was a half decent gun, one fella said his was a royal pain in the backside. Ihave an M3 which isn't that reliable, but they're all fussy with cartridges. The M4 is a different kettle of fish tho as its gas assisted and not like its predecessors which were inertia driven, maybe benelli have finally realised that there were problems with the old ones and come up with something new. still overpriced tho and i think the mag extension tubes are about £80.
  19. at the very worst the dog could be taken and destroyed, but as no actual evidence of harm is present then this won't happen, she may recieve a caution, but more likely just an informal warning. if the farmer persists in harassing your friend then she may be able to obtain an injunction against him, courts don't take too kindly to people harassing little old ladies.
  20. From whats been said so far, the farmer hasn't a leg to stand on. He's destroyed any evidence he might need by burning the carcass, the police may want to speak with her about the incident but they cannot act on just his word with no evidence. just sounds to me that he doesn't like people on his land. I spoke to a policeman friend of mine and he basically confirmed this, that unless the farmer is very persistant and stupid enough to try to take her to court over this matter, he will have to provide some sort of evidence to corroberate his story, either photographic or an autopsy report. As he won't have any of these he can't do a damn thing. It might be a good idea for the lady in question to walk her dog elsewhere and keep out of his way though, just in case he decides to have another rant.
  21. I'm gonna set up a web cam in the neighbours bedroom, they're newly weds!! oh boy i'm gonna be rich!!!!!
