  1. Could be interested, I'm originally from the Staffordshire/Cheshire boarder just on the A51, Whereabouts more specifically is the Land?
  2. Got a date with Netflix tonight, just trying to avoid spoilers today can't wait!
  3. Get yourself some sheep, they are great, I buy lambs in the Spring, slaughter in the Autumn, they keep the grass short over the summer Lamb in the freezer Rested it over the Winter.
  4. A Bit of marmite in water is a good general tonic and will pick-up a bird that is in a bit of a bad way, however it won't fix infections etc.
  5. I'd be interested in tagging along or getting a group of PW members together, I'm in Derby if anyone wants to get a car full together or something.
  6. I'm pretty sure touting isn't illegal for music concerts, hence being fine to sell them on Ebay, I think they should sell all tickets on an ebay style ticket portal IE all the tickets go on sale 9AM Friday and auctions close at 9PM, that could put the touts out of business! Yes you'd pay more, but a lot of the time you have to pay more to get tickets on ebay now anyways!
  7. But this dosen't 'break' any Christian rules, infact there are parts of the New Testament that say a women should cover their face in church, and also not speak! At passport control they are taken to a private area and a female offical confirms there identity, the same with exams I believe. I'm a Christian and I believe in doing unto overs as I would have them do unto me, as Jesus taught, 'the golden rule' and for me that means giving people the freedom to express their religion, to the same level I'd expect them to respect mine, i.e upto the point it impinges on my personal and the nations security. Is a women in a burka a risk to public safety in tesco? no she's not, what's the worst she can do? nick something? well if shes spotted a female staff member could deal with it, as would probably be the case for a non-burka wearing female, ie search etc. Yes some western ideals may not be acceptted in muslim countries, but shouldn't we be acceptting? otherwise we are falling to a lowest common denominator?

    Chris Hune

Many people get someone else take their points, I would wonder home many of those end up in jail, I'm no fan of the Lib Dems but it was a bit of a media witch hunt, yeah he should have got the points and a BIG fine, but would Joe public go to prison for this normally?
  9. I remember reading a news article a while ago about British companies operating abroad, I think we need to remember it goes both ways, the only one that sticks in my head was that a vast majority of the yellow school buses in the US are operated by a British company. I'm starting a new job next week with a company that do alot of maintenance on US goverment contracts, and else where, British Firm, it goes both ways! We live in a global economy for better or worse!
  10. Where about's will the day be, also what dates are available?
  11. So there has been no increase since 2001, what has the increase been in the cost of a driving license application or passport, surely that could be used to just what a reasonable increase maybe, not the I'm pretty sure it will not be the 400% rise suggested. But well done BASC on beating the increase. Surely the time to move to online applications is here, big savings!
  12. The whole thing is absoultly rediculous, kids who go in to buy shooting magazines probably have parents who shoot, the magazine teach the kids the laws on shooting and safe shooting practice. It has nothing at all to do with children, and everything to do with trying to make shooting and fieldsports into something abnormal and dangerous. I think shooting is a moral choice, like eating meat or diary, we have the right to choose for our selfs, should vegetarian and cook books be age restricated? As you need to be over 18 to make a moral decision like that and not be influenced by your parents. Spending time with my Dad when I was younger ferretting, shooting, fishing and generally being out and about was great quality time together. I'm not a Dad yet but when I will spent time with my kids out in the fields in all weather! Hunting and shooting is a great family activity. Let us live our lives in peace and you go back and enjoy your worrying that kids who spent quality time with their parents in the countryside are going to turn in to mass murderers who know how to use their guns in a safe and legal manner!
  13. It's very difficult to comment on this case as what has been presented is quite one sided. I'm not in anyway saing that people with learning difficulties cannot be good mothers and fathers with depression can't be good fathers, but what would we saying about the socail services if the child was negelcted, they have an older child in care any way which shows that they have given social service a good reason to believe the child may come to harm, they do have to get a court order to take the kids in the first place. I'm a little surprised that they were at home with the kid, my wife is a midwife and social services are often there to take babies away, it is very sad, but these are often girls on herion or, like in this case, already have their other kids in care, alot them think they can just have another and keep it. I guess social services didn't want this video on line as alot of people will think that there social workers are cruel and they may become a target etc. what they do is HARD, it will be hard for the parents. Will what they do be in the best interest of the child? hopefully. Is that the sincere believe of the social worker doing this? Yes. It is the classic dammed if you do dammed if you don't, it's not a job I'd want to do, but I'm glad someone does. EDIT: I'd spelt herion as herione, heroic girls can have babies! lol.
  14. Johnny Cash did a cover of a moby song - Run on, which is pretty epic, He just makes the songs his own! Also Future heads- Hounds of Love, is great, again made it there own! New line to the thread? Worst Cover track, That X factor Winner who did the Biffy Clyro song, When we Collide, It's a song about an abusive releationship, works with melancholy glaswigian lit, but he sang it in a really soft way, like you'd sing a normal love song and totally missed the emotion in the song.
  15. Working Hard, or Hardly working........................well I'm looking at porn, so the first one.
  16. It was attempts to access, not actually access, as it is more than likely blocked alot of sites, I was using a filtered wifi network and it wouldn't load facebook as it was classed as 'sex', I'm finding it hard to get worked up by this to be honest as, the figure was the number of times the filter blocked a site, not 300,000 images on one computer or anything. It seems that close on half happened in one month, either that was a very cold and lonely month or some sort of malious software was doing the rounds. Looking at porn instead of working is bad (looking at pigeonwatch at work is fine), I'm not convinced that is what these figures show.
  17. I think your boss is trying to tell you something.
  18. I don't know why people arn't just up front, as annoying as it's when people make out of ebay sells there is little a seller can actually do, they just want to make sure they can get there fees back! I was/am in the process of selling my vinyl collection on amazon, I had the message telling me that one had sold, then below after about an hour a message asking for a refund because the fella was drunk when he ordered it! a bit annoying yes but at least his was upfront about it! Try that one down the Kebab shop!

    Dyslexic

Dyslexic here to, no good at spelling, attrocious hand writting, good at science, maths and with out sounding big headed always quite articulate when expressing myself verbally, had help at school since I was in the last year at primary school, which was actually always really good. Became an engineer so I didn't have to do to much written work, spent most of my life writting reports! The best way to describe it for me is I remember what words look like and not how they are spelt, I will often have all the right letters and in an order that makes no sense at all. On a related note the equivilant for maths/numbers is dyscalculus!
  20. Thanks, that could be an issue, I'll cut them down see if that helps! Edit to say thinking about the ones that have been successful are smaller and this is a slightly taller one that has been producing the tails, so sounds like that might be the issue! cheers again.
  21. I used to deliver pizza for dominoes when I was a student, the owner who owned about 20 franchises, had an R8, he was often at our store because he had just taken over. It just always made me laugh because he parked next to all the delivery drivers car, so I'd look like some one was using it for delivery, Saxo, 306 fiesta, Micra, R8! The owner before that lent me his car for work when mine was broken! no such look with the R8 thou!
  22. I have a few MK4 Fenn traps deployed around my chicken coops, in modified planters cut at both ends, in the last week I have caught 3 rats tails! I have had success with the traps previously, but this week all I have had in the trap was the tails. Is there anything I can do to prevent this and keep the rat in the trap? smaller tunnel? bait above the trap? any suggestion welcome, thanks.
  23. Fair point I guess, technically he dosn't, technically what he said isn't racist, I assumed that bongo bongo land refered to Africa as it sounds similiar to some African country names and has historically been used as slang to refer to Africa. Or is it just where um bongo comes from.
  24. He called African Countries Bongo Bongo Land and said if we give them money they will buy sunglasses, not exactly forward thinging or progressive, he has generalised based on race, (African) that they are corrupt. I know some govenments in africa have problems with corruption but they are many that don't and many politicians fighting corruption. On UKIP in general, I'm not enamoured with the EU, but I'm not convinced by UKIP, I think it takes a little more that 'common sense' to run a country, and have seen very little over than 'good ideas' the man down the pub might have that may not have been fully thought through.
  25. I Donate, and also help collect donations, the people who are given food at the one I donate to have all been refered by the citizins advice berau, I guess I like the idea of food bangs as I buy £20 worth of stuff and that all goes to help people, ok some people might be chancing thier arm, but if I donated £20 cash , £10 would go to pay staff and office cost, £10 for food, there would still be some one chancing thier arm!
