  3. I saw this one in Sloane Street just before xmas, on a very nice car [edit] I've got a cherished plate with MR and my initials,,,, and coincidently my age at the moment. Don't think it would be worth as much as I paid for it a few years ago though :(
  4. Hi, yes that's all in, 2 good reels, 1 duff one for spares, and 9 spools. They are in good but used condition. HTH Chris

  7. Hi, if you found sacs with clear fluid and little white eggs in, in the muscle tissue, then in my experience they are tapeworm larvae. The other growth you describe, I've never heard of, so can't help with that. Myxi usually shows externally in some form or another, so I don't think it's myxi. HTH Chris
  8. Yup, seen more than usual down in deepest east Kent. Will have to keep my eyes open for them on my permissions
  9. All my myxi rabbits go in the freezer [carefully wrapped] then on to a BOP/Animal Centre. They are the favourite of the resident Cheetah's and Huskies, and the offal goes to the various raptors
  10. Pub restaurants are worth a try, especially the "private" ones,,,, if there are any Any place that's quite remote is always worth asking at. Just look at their menu's or phone and ask Village butchers too ? good luck
  11. Just a quick Q on this subject if I may, hope you don't mind Gerry What's the best british wood to use for a walking cane ? I've been suggested Hazel, which with my intended project would be ideal But any suggestions for the "best" to last a while, as it's going to get used a lot. Also, what to look out for, ie; what part of the tree [new/old] etc, and as above, how to stop it bending/curving and would it need treatment of any kind ? Or perhaps, would it be a good idea to buy a cheap old one from a "junk shop" ? Q's,,,, so many Q's Thanks in advance, and good luck to the OP cheers Chris
  12. Thanks for that fella, much appreciated If I have any success I'll put some pic's up,,,, maybe
  13. Thanks fella Can I ask,,,, what wood is the stick made of ? Thinking about having a go at something myself,,,, won't be as good as yours, but hey, gotta give it a try atb Chris
  14. Very nice work there fella, by both of you I take it that's a pheasant's head on the stick ? Love the way it merges with the wood, very nicely done ! atb Chris
  15. ^^^^ this was me this morning too,,,, until I read this thread [ with a small tear in my eye ! ] Wish Pete all the best and hope he continues to improve ATVB Chris
  16. Hi fella, don't listen to all this doom 'n gloom It's hard starting out in any proffession. If your mind's set on it, give it a go,,,, you can allways pull out, and look back on the experience Good luck !!!
  17. Some good advice for you there I'd recommend a lightweight steel frame, possibly out of small sized SHS [square Hollow Section]. Like I suggested before, run it past a structural engineer, then that'll give you a better detail to price from. atb Chris
  18. Maybe £50 is even more of a deterrent
  19. I thought I'd read it somewhere. It just stuck in my head somewhere,,,, rattling around  If someone can confirm this either way, please do,,,, thanks. Chris
  20. Just thinking along the lines of trapping [picking up] a pest species and releasing it, not despatching it Don't know if I'm wrong Please correct me if I am
  21. Yeah, that of course is correct. Another option/theory to the OP..... There is nothing to stop farmers/land owners picking up infected rabbits and introduce them to certain areas Unseen of course, as I'm sure we all know that is illegal Anyway, it is, and always will be, an ongoing battle,,,, especially for the bunnies
  22. Something that size must involve building reg's surely ? Correct me if I'm wrong. Could you not run it past an architect or structural engineer ? I'm sure the latter would give you what you're asking, and do some drawings for a small fee atb Chris
  23. Hi Mr W, it's not just in your area, and I doubt if anyone would "infect" an area with myxi out of spite or jealousy. I shoot down in east Kent, and have the same as you Also, I'm in touch with a couple of other shooters around the country. Cambridgshire is quite rife with it, some parts of Devon have it, and the Midlands too. Basically everywhere, but,,,, on my shoots, which are very small rural gardens and horse paddocks, there are some adjacent areas that have a healthy, thriving population of rabbits. One theory that has been suggested, is that myxi is appearing in the vicinity of railways through the land Not always, but in quite a lot of cases. Theories are only that, and my mind is open, but my shoots are directly next to a main line track, and as I said, myxi has done my work for me. My sentiments are the same as yours,,,, I enjoy being out there, doing a "job" with pleasure, and hate seeing any creature suffering. Hope it improves for you, as it probably will, as rabbits will never completely disappear atb Chris
  24. Another very nice shot GG. Must say, I look forward to your pic's,,,, very classy and proffessional That bird is looking quite relaxed there, methinks atb Chris
