Lets put it a different way then. A magazine is not a component part of a firearm. A loaded magazine is still not a component part of a firearm BUT if you are in possession of a loaded magazine, the firearm itself is considered to be loaded.

Just because you put a call through on the three nines doesn't mean that it will get a quicker response. Calls can be graded higher or lower using the NDM previously mentioned. You will, however, get the call answered quicker.

Dunno about 22.250 but I've got a Howa in .223 and 2 remy's in .243 and .308. The .223 is a superb bit of kit and compares very well with the remy's for design and usability. A bit heavier though. The Howa has been devastating on foxes out to 300 yards. Why Axiom? I have an Axiom stock sat in a cupboard as I prefer the Hogue that's on the rifle rather than all the sticky outy pointy bits.

You do need to join a shooting organisation, if only for the insurance. BASC is but one. Do a bit of research and join the one that suits you best.

Much as it pains me to admit it, I have to agree with everything Kent has said. A loaded magazine is considered to be a loaded firearm. I can't see there'd be a problem moving from field to field but travelling to and from your shooting would be hard to justify.

Sometimes getting up close and personal is all a chap will understand though. And sometimes reasoned debate is out of the question because someone HAS to be right (and it's often the same culprit). Just an observation, like.
