  1. Had to have a new rad on mine. The sides started bulging with the pressure. Andy.
  2. I paid about £9000 for an x reg a few years ago, then over the next few years spent another £6000 on springs, back axle, clutch, engine and radiator. I wouldn't recommend any of the early models. I don't know what the newer ones are like. Andy
  3. I live just over the flood bank (dry side) of the nene washes where the reintroduction is taking place. The washes are mostly grass with plenty of reedy ditches which is where the corncrakes call from. My house is out in the middle of typical fen farmland, but I'm surrounded by 4 or 5 acres of permanent set aside which is never cut or driven on, so perfect nesting site. I believe they migrate in the winter to warmer climes, but they only live a couple of years so don't get much opportunity to establish a population if they don't manage to breed one year. We also have quite a badger population these days, and they are experts at hoovering up ground nesting birds Andy
  4. You can buy sockets that grip anything. Lots on Google Andy
  5. We've had one calling next to the house for about 10 days. The rspb are coming tonight to catch it to see if it's one of theirs. We're only a short distance from where they have been reintroducing them Andy
  6. I think you need a tacho if the train weight is more than 3500kg, if you're using it for business. Andy
  7. He can try, if he has evidence that you are not suitable to hold firearms, as could anyone. If he's just being vindictive find someone else who will vouch for you and act as a referee in case he withdraws his support for you. Andy
  8. Parkers of Peterborough, who were bought out by sterling bolt and nut co Peterborough. Andy
  9. Never used one myself, just neck size run the cases through a Lee deluxe quick trim and load. The extreme spread is only about 30 fps average. Andy
  10. Looks a brilliant idea. The only problem I could see would be on a breezy day. No doubt you could guy rope it down but would the shaking reflection spook the quarry. It's something I would definitely have a play with if I still went pigeon decoying. Andy.
  11. I've heard this from time to time. Does it perhaps mean you can't have bullets in a non detachable mag but surely you can have a loaded mag in your pocket? I'll try googleAndy Plenty of forum threads on the subject but can't find any legal links. Might ask basc tomorrow, see if they have a definitive answer Andy
  12. They've changed the rules since last year then, it was £1 a rabbit guts in. Same with hares. Mine go to a reptile shop now. £1.50 a rabbit guts in. Andy
  13. Peterborough game dealers insist on guts in, so they can see if they're healthy, I suppose. Andy
  14. Yes I got it, I've replied Cheers Andy
  15. Ok, I'll let you know Andy
  16. I've got a couple of butler creek metal lipped ones from when I had a 10/22. £10 each? Plus postage Andy

    stove

I've got an old American pot belly stove. £50 if you can collect from near Peterborough It's split into 3 pieces so not too heavy to lift. Andy
  18. To make sense of centre to centre, if you put 3 bullets through the same hole and the size of the hole was the same size as the bullet the group would be zero, not the bullet diameter. If you did the same with say a 50 cal bullet and a 22 bullet the two groups would be the same, zero, not half an inch, and a quarter of an inch. Andy

    First .223

My lamping buddy died last year and his gun is in Whittllesy gunshop I'm sure any offer around £100 would get it. It's an old Brno 223 with a scope. It's old but still super accurate with factory amo. I was shooing 250yd crows with it last spring. It's not threaded for moderator. His almost new Cz rimfire is also available, with moderator. Andy
  20. When you think it's dry leave a bucket on the surface overnight, if the concrete doesn't change to a darker colour under the bucket then it's dry. We were always taught to allow one month per inch to fully cure a floor slab. Paint it too soon and it will never dry, well not until the paint has peeled off Andy
  21. Anyone want to collect a call bird from PE7 Andy

    Bank charges

Just to clarify a bit. I've had this personal current account since May 1997, when it cost £5 a month. The only perk was £100 free overdraft and interest paid on credit balances. Over the years it has crept up to £13.50 a month. I was never asked if I wanted the so called perks or offered an account which I didn't have to have them. In fact they gave the impression they were free perks added on to your account. I've always been in the AA, had saga holiday insurance when I could afford holidays, I look after my phone etc etc So, if I'm paying these insurances, I don't need, want or indeed ever asked for, then yes, I think they are having my leg up and I deserve some recompense. Bank charges

Thanks Luke, just looked it up in moneysavingexpert.com, and it sounds much the same as the ppi scam. Just got to decide whether to try myself or get someone to act for me. Don't know if I could stand the stress doing it myself. Andy
