  1. 22. was shooting **** not so long ago. got it back from rfd after having it put on ticket and couldnt hit a barn door with it. Had deadeye ive make me a bit for it (cheers Ive). It was the rear screw on the trigger guard, the thread had gone in the alli body, some super well experienced engineer threw a heli coil in (not Ive it was the so called gun smith) i gave it a bit of a re crown. and bobs your uncle.
  2. These were the groups shot this afternoon. A quick zeroing session befor i go out later, thats if the rain backs off a bit
  3. close on its the longest one i could get. just seen this new invention that make things seem invisible. look into that so i can creep rite up to the target without any one noticing. since ive been playing about with it a bit more and not swapping the ammo about (silly me i didnt even realise i was doing) its shooting allot better. was just getting ready to go out tonight and its started to P it down. went out this after with the R7 groups bootiful now. pickys to follow

    Digital Camera

I have the same one with the printing dock. For those who are interested for £40 its a bargain. :look: nice little camera
  6. brill read. You cant beat a good bit of taking the "P". dont you wish every weekend was like that mind you from what ive heard they probably are :look:
  7. the length of the barrel makes up for my lack of field craft, being nearly 4 foot long it gets me just that little bit closer therefore enabling me to take those tricky shots. and sometimes, when the winds in the rite direction give one or two rabbits a bash on the bonce with the sak. on a more serious note its a ruger 77/17 23inch barrel
  8. no. close one sparkie. was there before. good thinking though. should be a bloody good field for the rabbits when the grass is cut. :look:
  9. can anyone tell me what the mark is on my barrel. it doesnt seem to go no matter what i do. from a lathe or ?? think i will get the grinder on it see if that will move it :look: oh and another view from the gate, while i'm posting in the pictures section
  10. cheers chaps. "luckytrigger" it was Ruger 77/17 HMR "colinfx" i would skin in the field but most of my rabbits are sold to locals and i like to keep them as clean as poss. not that bothered about the fleas there bites arent all that bad . but do get a few comments from passengers now and again. and i do like to have a beer after, :look: so like to get back as soon as poss, before the local shuts do i sound like an alki
  11. only got 4 missed 1 had to pack up earlier than i wanted to. will have a full day tomorow .see if i can bag a few more.
  12. new permission only rabbits but hey! cant complain view from ambush point over newly sewn grass seed. the distance to the hedge at the nearest point is 92yds, to the left of the picky the tree's are 130yds, the centre tree's are 200 + a tad to far for the hmr, and rabbits all along the hedge
  13. you seem to have the idea that its pointed for feather as for better penetration. sorry but long been thrown out the window. find a pellet that suits YOUR air rifle and stick to that one. try it on paper first. then see if it works on the practicle side of your sport. practice will prevail just changed the barrel on my air rifle and not happy with it untill i can hit what i aim at on paper. Then and only then will i go after the bunnies. R7 10 years old had it since new shot well over 500,000 pellets and dont know how many live targets ie;- rabbits pigeons squirrels rats and other stuff
  14. As said before, just be honest dont try and be someone your not. All the chap is doing is trying to see in his own experienced if your sensible enough to own a firearm. Just be yourself, you dont need to know the bullet coeficiant and velocity impact and god knows what about bullets and all that. Dont put too much BS in your bonce or you will look a rite ****. you want a fire arm and its your write to own one unless YOU give reason to the FLO not to own one. If your in the BASC the give them a call or send an "E" mail for £1 a week there worth every penny for the help and information Stop panicking and do it/
  15. going back in a bit to have a peep, mums gone out so take one of her dogs
  16. ive shot over grass used for haylage and try and pick up as much as i shoot. not allot when it gets too high to find i dont bother shooting over those fields Dave -- "Should I admit I have shot a 17HMR when I meet my Head of firearms dept this week"? when i got my visit last year for the application for FAC i was asked what experience i had with fire arms, I thought ah! e's trying to catch me out here, i knew that if i gave the incorrect answer ide blow it. As at the time i thought that using a fire arm before having a ticket was an offence. So how was i to get out of this corner, well i said that ide been out with a mate and watched him. Mr FLO picked up the bone china cup dwarfed by his 6ft6in and 3ft wide stature and took another sipp from his cup of tea which i served him in my best bone china with i must add a saucer, his little finger pointing outwards directly at me as he sipped, his eyes glared at me over the top of the cup . he took the cup away from his lips and spoke in a soft but stern kind of way. "all i'm after here he said is a bit of honesty" I looked at him and smiled as i offered him another fairy cake. I am not 100% sure till this day wether it was my best bone china or the fairy cakes that got me through that interview. But there again it could have been that i was being honest.
  17. Not surprised in the least that you cant find that screw i left on your bench with all that rubbish on there looks ok,as you say have to give it a go in the field.
  18. I moved the bunnies into a position that would not show the bad side. Only one was a body shot which was the long shot the others were head or neck shots. ANYWAY there all dead aint they and no need for a despatcher thingy

    First aid

totally agree with old bill DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE put you fingers in mouth. During a fit the IP has no control over muscle movement at all they can have a far stronger bite then normal. it is also very rare for anybody who is having a fit or as they call it now seizure to choke at the first stages, after the seizure has subsided then put in recovery position. as far as ETA for emergency services when you go to the bar for a pint are you the only one ? most probably not.they work bloody hard, Put yourself in there position, life and death in front of you most days. Good mates with both Paramedics and fire service very sad stories. wouldnt do there job for any money Off my soap box too sorry sorry to you Hunter to as i was posting after you. spot on Hunter as you say take a first aid course
