I would continue shooting the pigeon and has been said refer anyone to your farmer and let him argue the toss.I would not bring the FEO into the equation. They would, IMO not be interested in your dilema but would assume your 'written permission' was not valid, possibly causing you greater problems.Do not alienate the estate owner but request that he speaks to the farmer to over come the problem that he has, try to show that you are responsible and would benefit him also. I would have thought that if the estate controlled all shooting they would have 'stopped you shooting' by now. It's one thing to have all shooting rights and another not to want some one shooting vermin on part of your game shoot. Let the farmer know your concerns, (without causing him a problem) and be reassured by his response.

Got to be other ways to 'rod' or hand drill the pellet out,after all it's only a piece of lead. Heating barrel would never enter my head to remove a stuck pellet. As it's already been done test firing at a target is the only way to test its accuracy.

I have done just that in the past. EMAILED FEO in the area that the land was situated ( not my area) and said that I had been asked to help with pest control and what calibre (if any) the land was passed for. Received a reply same day telling me the maximum calibre it was already passed for. Therefore no need at all to be recorded on my information on file.

If you only get one it shows you are making a start, I would sit out at best ambush spot and aim to get one or two to show landowner. Good luck.

Give FEO a ring and ask for a time frame for your land check, go out with air rifle and shotgun meanwhile to show landowner your willing.

By the way, having spoke about possible dud rounds blocking rifle bore to make you aware of it, we happened to see this actually happen with the HMR and that was a first for me also, so one good lesson learned and reinforced. Blockage cleared within a minute when I got home so right tool for the job will now be carried in car. Feel sure your FAC appllcation will be successful.

I've had exactly the same problem but with a different gun in the past.Take the stock off and look, you will see the problem if you try firing the problem sequence.I am not knowledgeable enough it explain it in more detail.

They certainly help to get the pigeons attention and draw them to you. I try to put them where they are silhouetted so as to be seen from a greater distance.Plenty have turned off the flight path to have a closer look which is all I want with the shotgun. I have used them in the past when air rifle shooting and they give you many more opportunities when they have come in to land in a shootable position within feet of the decoys. I will try using a ladder also next time, they feel high up when you loft them but not when you stand back and view them. (I have mounted a funnel on the end of my poles to help locate when taking them down) spelling edit

I wouldn't go any heavier than Crosman Premmier Ultra magnum in .177 cal and at 10.5g is well heavy for .177.I do think that at that weight you would begin to loose some of the flat trajectory of the .177 calibre. I wouldn't bother going any heavier than 8.5g at 11.5 ft/Lb and concentrate on accurate shot placement. (error correction edit)
