  1. First choice if I have it, is to buy British but I don,t knowingly buy French at all and don,t take that to be racist. I do believe the French look after the French unlike we British and I admire them for that.
  2. I voted yes but not only because of this recent gaffe but for the above reasons. Regarding earlier posts re freedom of speach, this goes out of the window where racial opinions are spoken it seems.
  3. 43 years and don,t they pass quick I obviously got married very very young.
  4. Been there several times in recent months and each time compressor was down. Went last week for a top up and again compressor was down and they told me they are moving soon. I usually go to Ashton in Makerfield to 'Shipmates' on Bolton Road.
  5. This has only recently been discussed. The answer was you can only use a shot gun without possessing a SGC if you are loaned a gun from the owner of the land /shooting rights and under his supervision.(this answer excludes clay pigeon clubs) If you do not own the land or shooting rights you cannot legally lend your mate your gun even if you have permission to shoot. Hopefully Compo90's post supercedes this recent answer.
  6. 28% but only because I hadn,t thought of some of the suggested ways to 'save' money Merry xmas to everyone.
  7. Welcome Ace, you have come to the right place for advice,on anything.....
  8. I too would happily have gave him a tenner if he politely said to the conductor "sorry mate I cant afford the ticket" But to abuse the staff member and happily delay the train AND swear like that infront of youngster, he got exactly what he deserved!
  9. You did the right thing in the circumstance and you should not have any regrets, what ever the child did (if anything)could not have warranted that kind of punishment. Discipline is one thing but what you describe is not "discipline". Homes like that childs are the ones raising unruly children. It depresses me to see young innocent children being brought up in those surroundings with parents who do not have a clue. They themselves grow up to be the same as their parents through no fault of their own. I am sure many others see the same scenario and despair.
  10. What is it in relation to? Do you mean Spinney?
  11. It doesn,t feel like its stopped in the last week here in the north west, your welcome to it. But bet we still have an hose pipe ban in the summer.
  12. Like me you have answered your own question, this time anyway.
  13. And remember season starts on the 25th December, and not before please...
  14. To act within the law for sure "yes" But as Piebob says ask FEO for his ruling, you have only something to be gained and nothing to loose. Good luck and I think you are doing the right thing to make sure of the legality because of the vagaries of the rule.
  15. Occasion well worth recording and well done..
  16. Is a shotgun the only option? I too would be reluctant from your description of the permission and would prefer other options such as air rifle. However the law on using shotgun without a sgc has been discussed on here previously and I still believe it to be a bit vague based on these discussions. If you are using shotgun supplied by the land/sporting rights owner and under his supervision it is ok. That in a nutshell is how I see it but others have added other interpretations and I am sure your post will generate other opinions. I personally have not seen a definitive answer to this question and would welcome one as you do.
  17. Get it looked at by Doctor, the least you will need is Tetanus jab but needs to be attended to. Last time I had a Tetanus jab it was given to me in back side by female nurse who I went to school with as a teen.
  18. There has been lots of good advice on here and I too would say get help from a dog behaviour therapist before things escalate. A good one will show you what you are doing wrong and how best to correct it from a psycholgical perspective.(I suspect it is mostly a lack of understanding on both parties that is the problem) You are obviously a good owner but I feel professional advice would benefit you to get the best relationship from what appears to be a good dog that needs a little help to please all concerned. Meanwhile, I wouldn,t leave any dog alone with a small child no matter what breed or temperament. Good luck.
  19. No good smacking him at any time never mind so long after the event.Need to stop the event happening in the first place. Sounds to me the poor dog is bored out of his mind and needs reassurance and company. Just my two pennorth.
  20. What pellets do you have?
  21. Personally, I would use a sxs 12 bore to shoot (at them)and I would take a lab to retrieve only.
