  1. It's very unlikely that they would have changed pipe to run the heating. If the water is a barrier pipe then the heating will be too IME.
  2. It's only 4 years old, should be barrier pipe in this install being a recent new build.
  3. Doesn't even get on the list as far as I'm concerned. ...and that's before I start to think about what a prize richard-head he is!
  4. I listen to the noise he makes and feel I haven't heard much better. Horses for courses.
  5. You can hire double kayaks locally for the day for £30. Bikes, tents, sleeping bags etc....most families have them anyway. The yacht and camper van I have to admit we don't have knocking around.

Buy a Weirauch silencer. Seriously. I tried the AA silencer and took it back to swap for a far superior Weirauch silencer on my 510.
  7. Slash. A level above the old time rockers.
  8. A lot of this is cheap as chips to do, doesn't cost anything but fuel to do a lot of it.
  9. Seconded re power flushing. It has its place but it is not the 'solve all' cure for many problems that many inexperienced plumbers thought it to be. It won't clear a blocked cold feed or 'H' in a month of Sundays and is often the first port of call when it isn't really beneficial at all. In the case above, the air in your system probably isn't air at all. It's a sealed system and in theory, once it's fully bled there is nowhere for the air to get into the system. If there is a lack of inhibitor in the system then the oxygenated water in your system is attacking the steel radiators and producing two things. Black sludge and hydrogen gas, it's probably hydrogen you are bleeding out. (I would tell you how to test for it but don't want you to set fire to anything!) Both are resolved by adding a cleanser, allowing it time to cleanse, then flush thoroughly and refill with two litres of Sentinel or Fernox. You can use others but personally I stick with the big two because they are manufacturer approved and I spend a lot of time cleansing, flushing and inhibiting systems as part of the commissioning process in new build properties.
  10. Just to throw a curve ball, I've found that it depends on whether you have brass or copper olives. Brass I use jointing paste as they weep quite often, copper don't. Oh, 26 year time served so not just an opinionated DIY'er either. As for wrapping olives with PTFE, never done it never will, the give away of a DIY job that is, as well as wrapping the threads outside of a compression joint.
  11. If the valve pushes over manually then the internals aren't seized...in which case save the hassle of draining down, refilling, clearing air locks etc...and just swap the powerhead.
  12. Got to agree with the 'depends why you're there' camp. If you've been invited onto the land to reduce rabbit numbers, then there's not really space for scruples. Your land though, your call. I'd like to think that if it was mine I'd shoot sustainably rather than looking to exterminate anything.
  13. I have a head turning Landy Discovery! I think it's mainly people staring in amazement that it still turns a wheel though!!!
  14. What these guys said. It's the server doing the ping not your home server. www.speedtest.net has always been accurate for me.
  15. Generally that should be their families job. I don't want to sound mean spirited, but you can't look out for every child out there, all of the time.
  16. Was watching a playing field edged with oaks this afternoon. Probably 250 pigeons dropping in and out hoovering up the acorns....what a depressing sight, I don't think I have oaks on any of my permissions!
  17. Nah, that's just a straight forward jump, nothing more than pin it and lean forward. Getting better though, at least this one has an engine!
  18. Damn straight! Chips get salt, vinegar and that's it! (Ok, maybe a bit of curry sauce on a Friday!) ...and what the flippin' eck is this 'pea wet' kerud that I keep being told about! I am thoroughly peed off! 7% Northern! Where the hell did that 7% contamination come from? I suspect it was the wild guess on the oatmeal question! My family may never speak to me again!!!
  19. Beautifully understated comment Sir.
  20. When he can do that with 170kg of metal at 75mph, come back and talk to us! B)
  21. Couple more then to keep it ticking... My VFR Vtec, repainted by me and my mate. Had race cans on it and sounded AWESOME! V4 and open pipes works in a big way! The 'blade... ...and my first big bike...
  22. It would appear its because you's Northerners speak North American English, whereas down south we speak British English, innit! http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/bath_1
