  1. Hi Terry Welcome to the site. David
  2. I've also baited mink onto a raft and used cat food as bait. Shot them off the raft from the other side of the lake. very effective.
  3. Picture of the home made squirrel feeder. Large pickled onion jar inside to hold nuts, beneath a hinged lid.
  4. Yep, bait stations for grey squirrels very effective. I have made a feeder from pallet planks and set a large jar inside, with a hinged lid. Stops the birds pinching the nuts and squirrels learn quickly ho to lift the lid for a meal. I average 50 off each feeder in one wood each year.
  5. I have Scorpion AT's on my Izusu. Similar tread to the Grabber. V good in the mud in low ratio.
  6. If that is what you are after, you could get a good s/h one for half the price. If it is going to be short range a .22 would be best. More knock down power, but that is a bit controversial.
  7. Down to the church council and minister. permission may be possible if the rabbits are damaging head stones by their burrows. Check with the vicar. Sundays is not usually a good day to suggest shooting
  8. Yep, good enough as a starter. also look at weirauch. They are very accurate. No need to fill them up with air. As you crank the barrel dow to cock it it compresses its own air charge and you are ready to go.
  9. Great day and thanks for the write up.
  10. Yep I'll be there at least on Sat and maybe for full two days, depending on work.
  11. 8 so far this year including 2 today. All with .22rf 212
  12. Well, permit me to wax lyrical about my Isuzu Rodeo Denver LE 3.0L Auto. I spent some time researching 4WD pick-ups and found that the Denver had the largest cab and legroom in the back seat. It runs in two wheel rear drive normally, but at the touch of a button it changes to 4WD on the fly up to 60mph. Drop it into 4WD low ratio and it has awsome off road capacity. I have taken it up rough forestry tracks where temporary roads have been cut for thinning work, up and down hill sides in N Wales. On the road the cab comfort is more like a large family car than a truck. It has just rolled over 25000 in just over 12 months and the dash computer records an average fuel consumption of 29.1 for that entire distance. It does high 30's mpg on the motorways if you jog along at 68mph. The cruise control is very easy to use and efficient. You will probably appreciate I give it a large thumbs up.
  13. No help with your Kia, but I have a 3.0L Isuzu rodeo Denver auto. It averages 29 mpg over 25000 miles and gives 38mpg on motorways on cruise at 66mph. Well pleased.
  14. I'm fairly new to PW but guess it will be a good way to get to know some folk. Sounds a good weekend. Count me in. ATL David
  15. I have a Browning semi auto .22, beautiful gun. Great fun to use. 10 round mag. Can be stripped without tools.
  16. I drove from Stockholm then right up north in -35 with thick snow on pack ice, chains were the only thing to get through. Not quite the same need in UK. Have a new Isuzu Denver this year, bring on the snow.
  17. Bet that bigun made a thud when it dropped
  18. Hi I have just been looking around the site and am looking forward to getting to know the community here. I am mainly a rifle shooter. Deal with vermin control in Lancs Merseyside and North Wales. using Air rifles, one FAC, .22 and 17hmr rimmys 12b and 410. Authorised to use firearms for Humane Dispatch. Held my first firearm 55 years ago, but left it all behind whist raising family and moving around the country with work. ATB David
