I shoot fac air and own and use a .22 mk-1 rqpid @30fpe , which is the best power setting for accuracy and impact power i also use a fac mk-2 rapid .20 @26fpe this gives a flat trajectory with good assuracy and impact power, amd the best in my arsenal is a .25 rapid @48 fpe this is the best power for .25 as the accuracy is first class and the H&N Barracuda 31grn pellets deliver deadly trauma damage. Its not the power output its ACCURACY Thats important plus antthing with more power is IMHO a waste of air. atb brian

Hi Starlord , i have owned the fac Career 707 with the power wheel, you could set it at what power you fancied, i ran mine at 50fpe with barracuda 31 gr pelletts a great gun , my current Cannon is a Ben Taylor built .25 rapid @48fpe and using the H&N barracuda 31gr pellets is a great cmbination of of hitting power & accuracy Enjoy your gun i do like its rugged looks. atb brian

Hi Hawkeye welcome to the forum, if you google ukchinese airgun forum they have a lot of useful advice, if you you also google Woodfield GCP products get the contact phone no and speak to William he sells lots of bits and pieces and also does an excellent tuning up job on the basic gun, i bought an SMK Xs-19 .22 calibre break barrel and william serviced it by removing all the internal burrs smothiing out and updating the trigger & spring , the gun is now very smooth and shoots as good as my German made springers and has already accounted for many rats and rabbits,i used to not rate chinese guns but a little work produces a good gun, good luck with your choice . if you need any help pls pm me. atb Brian

Hi Argyll, its because of the recoil of the gun ,a springer should always be held with the palm of your hand supporting the front of the gun this should be done in a light grip even if a gun bag is used the above should be carried out. i hope this helps. regds brian

Hi TD, in my experience the best fpe for fac is 30fpe .22 calibre , i use bisley mag pellets and my favoured gun is a rapid, this gun is my nv gun for daytime fac shooting i use a mk-2rapid .20 @26 fpe with H&N FT pellets , and as stated there is no legal limit on max power, But imho any thing over 40fpe is awaste of air, regds brian

I agree with Steve,s post as above the Gen 1 Cobra Merlin is an excellent unit, i own one of these and use it on my FX Verminator sub 12fpe .22 its my ratting set up , you can alsu use the NVMT yukon Monocular 2x24 this is also Gen1 and cheaper than the cobra merlin with a led Infra red illuminator it would be ideal for your needs, if you need more advice Ring geofferey on 07958-392392 he is a NV expert. atb brian

Very few hares on my shoots here in essex and all my landowners want them left alone, but if i did shoot them then my 22lr or .17hmr or my .25 fac rapid @ 48 fpe would used i would never use sub 12fpe airguns i love to watch them , i have more than enough bunnies to keep me busy, regds brian

Well put StevieP, i thought chinese guns were **** until i got this xs19 i also own HW95.177 ,a HW77.22 , a HW35.22. The XS19 .22 certainly shoots as smoothly as my HW35.22 and is accurate as well, i shoot springers for fun, and i think if you can shoot these accurately then pcp,s are easy and i do own a few!!!!!! of these as well mainly for hunting, as i am lucky to have x9 permissions, So whatever you shoot enjoy it,thats what it comes down too IMO. I have an xs19 .22 thats been fettled by Welsh willy from the Uk chinese airgun forum its now spot on pellet on pellet at 25yds, i got mine as a bit of fun but now use it on back yard rats the xs 19 or the xs20 can be turned into good guns just google--WWW Woodfield GCP And He will sort your gun. atb brian

hi LC ,fac break barrels are thin on the ground but theobens do the eliminator , imo you would be better off going for a pcp say a 2nd hand rapid. fac 22 at 30fpe as you get a good shot count with a rapid, atb brian

hi callas both of these guns being CO-2 are affected by the temperature and lose or gain power IMO you would be better off buying a air arms S200 .177 and a stirrup pump to fill it with air. if you buy a CO-2 The Air magnum is the better of the two. regds brian
