I'm far from an expert on Baikals, but here's a couple of thoughts. The trigger might be stiff pushing foward as it hasn't been used, or maybe it needs cartridges in it first before you can select? You will feel a "click" once the top barrel is engaged.

Now had 3 in this particular cage and not a scratch on it. The cage is well out of sight of any neighbours.

Yes. We all have access to the shotgun cabinet in my house, so all the guns are on all the certs. i.e Seller fills in my cert, and I fill in wife's and son's as "shared", or vice-versa.

I shot one this morning in my back garden and checking it over it was a massive vixen but looked "cubbish". I was anal enough to weigh it as it was next to my shed with my fishing tackle in, so used my scales. It weighed 20lb. Easily the biggest vixen I personally have ever seen. She was in immaculate condition with a huge bushy tail. My question is as this is too big to be this year's litter, could it be last year's, or do they take longer than that to grow to this size? I would have thought if she was much older, she would have had the odd battle scar, but she was mint.
