    My Lad

excellent mate. my lad has been away on an adventure break with school this week. we had no contact with him for a few nights. as a family we have missed him dearly {he is only 11}. i am sure its no easier as they get older. my lad is back home now and we have just watched your lads vid. we thought it was excellent. you have every reason to feel proud
  5. enjoyable reading thanks for sharing.
  6. i recently bought some hull cartridge solway. they are 3" magnums and are 34gms of no 4 steel. only fired a few of them but have killed mallard stone dead at approx 40 yds through half choke
  7. thanks for the comments lads, it really was as tasty as it looks. it was made with pigeon breast meat, mushrooms, bacon bits and shallots. the sauce/gravy was made with a bottle of pedigree ale your right about the peas and pastry dougy i need to work on them. swear i didn't know about the pellet taxidriver good job it wasn't a steel one could have got expensive
  8. not too sure if this should be in sporting pics but just thought i would show you the pigeon pie that i made with my own fair hands. i am by no means a chef of any sorts but thought i would seek out a recipe on the net and try it out. the whole family enjoyed the pie made with woodpigeon and servevd with carrots and peas from the garden. unfortunately the wife found a shotgun pellet in hers but on the whole it was lovely. next time you shoot a bag keep a few back and make a pie.
  9. plenty of wrags mate lean the rad towards a bucket and turn it upside down before you carry it away. don't forget when draining the system to slacken all the upstairs rad bleed srews and the downstairs a while after
  10. nice bag daz good job you made some room in the freezer.
  11. nice one pc. enjoyable write up and pics as always. can't beat a bit of crow bashing . keeps the farmers happy
  12. well done fella, lets hope it's going to be one of those seasons
  13. lovely bass that mongrel i would be well chuffed with that.
  14. a jimny will go plenty of places that a disco won't. but we are talking about defender or jimny
  15. well done mate on getting the permission. as mr williamson says respect his property and be there shooting when the birds/ foxes are doing the damage.
  16. no brainer mate. like saying holland and holland or hatsan all depends on your budget and what you want it to do. nothing wrong with a jimny but a defender is far better quality and with hold its value etc etc.
  17. well done on bagging the new job not easy in the current climate.
  18. i have just bought a big river branded lady duck call, after a reccomendation on here. seems to work ok on the mallard and was about £12 off the bay
  19. i would have thought a fox would have dragged the carcass closer to cover if it had made the kill. my guess would be it died of natural cause and corvids etc have picked at the carcass. {from one of the less knowledgeable on here}.
  20. i used to run a 98 'R' reg disco. i loved it, good off road abilitys, easy to work on if your mechanically minded. what miles has it got? will be used on the road?
  21. hi steve, yes the test date runs from the date of manufacture. 5 years for dry clinders and i think 3 years for ones used in water. the date of manufacture is normally stamped onto the shoulder of the cylinder. it does not always look like a date but usualy refers to a month and date of the said year. when they are re tested a sticker will replace the stamp with a new date.
  22. a friend of mine has one sat on top of his woodburner. it certainly heats up the room that it's in approx 20 square meters. not sure about it heating elsewhere as his layout is obviously different. they deffinately do work though.
