  1. hi guys/girls, just wondered if any of you that are shooting any amount of pigeons at the moment are noticing young birds amongst them. up here in east yorkshire quite a lot of the birds we are shooting on rape and at roost are young with no white neck markings. is this normal for late december? are the birds from a third brood? only got back into the pigeons last couple of years and noticing this more. don't remember this in late 80's early 90's. would be interested to hear from others especially those who shoot a lot of birds a year. to see if this is uccuring more often nowadays. just interesred really. aga man.

  5. not sure if this helps mate. this is how i made the extendable arms on my home made magnet. basically a nut welded over a drilled hole, then a bolt to suit the nut with a bar welded to the bolt head for tightening. {if that makes sense}. not pretty but it works.

  10. i also use bike spokes. a tip my dad gave me when he was a keeper 20 odd years ago cheap and very effective as long as you don't leave any lying around as there good at giving puntures too. deads on cradles can be posistioned in different ways aswell. interesting to hear about the effectiveness of the FUD's might invest in some to help fill out the pattern. i have heard others say the pigeons don't flare from them. Cos is there any particular way you set them out ie do you use the red metal spike or do away with it?

  20. crows and magpie are hungry at the moment and will happily come to a piece of carion. i would try a dead rabbit laid on it's back with its guts torn open. place just a couple of decoys near it. like swiss says get camo'd up and above all keep still until the very last minute.
