  2. What a stupid thing to do! Today, I went out to track down the pigeons, wherever they may be. After an hour of searching, and driving around, I located them , 'Great' I thought, Got the hide out, trekked across the field , found a smashing place backed onto a hedge and fallen tree, Set up the hide went back to the car, Ammo pouch, bag with a butty, and a small flask, Berretta,, Coat, scrim face mask. Fold up chair. ##############! I left the decoys on the table in the back yard. DOH!!!! Numbnuts.
  3. S200 Air Arms/CZ, You wont get a better gun, for accuracy, and weight.
  4. Glue the dead cat to the end of the rifle butt, Sorted
  5. Hi, my grandson , is struggling to cock his .22 lightning XL , So I am after a longer .22 barrel that would fit please.
  6. Well I got three big fat woodies yesterday. I was warm dry and comfortable. I shot them with a .22 springer, on the bird feeding tables at my sons house. Not a one on the permissions .
  7. Oh , just stick a lampost up in the field near your hide, and pop the townies, as they come in.
  8. Just noticed this thread. I have a Stoeger, X20 , which the first owner got rid of because of the poor accuracy.(4 inch groups) The breech end of the barrel , has NO lead in for the pellet, (its not slightly countersunk or even , de burred 'carp' workmanship). So I got a stepped hole cutting tool from the tool shed, and put gently a 1 mm chamfer/lead on the barrel hole. Instant accuracy. WW Trigger and spring kit. great gun. But it was the lead in for the pellet, that changed the accuracy. And even better with Superdomes , than AA Diablos.that the HW95 likes.
  9. Bear in mind though, the place where you are shooting. If you are not having to walk great distances, gun weight is not an issue. If you need to wonder around alot, it could be. My HW95 .22 is great , but not after I have been carrying it for an hour or two, Also , the woodwork on the HW Is fabulous, so the prospect of a big scratch , sends shivers down my spine. So for 'roaming' , I got myself a Stoeger X20 suppressor .177 ,(2nd hand), fitted a Woodfield (Welsh Willy), trigger , and spring kit. Turned out a 'stonkin' little gun. £150 all in.
  10. I have a Hatsan Pump with extended chokes. I cant figure out why a fully cammo' gun would have a big shiny silver thing sticking out at the front for the pigeons to see So I covered mine in green tape. One of the chokes does have a poor thread on it , with flat tops, on each pitch.
  11. In that case ,all Pigeons should feel safe! thanks for the replies.

    301

Hi All, I just bought a Beretta 301 , with a fixed 1/4 choke. Will this be alright ok for a pigeon gun?
  13. Beretta 301,or similar. Would do the job. I use a SxS mostly though.
  14. Rocket and Feather. Up like a rocket , down like a feather'. As for jobs , 'Hi boys' welcome to the Free market economy. Sometimes your the bug sometimes your the windscreen'.
  15. One of the best reasons to bring back 'Spitting Image'.
  16. I have given up my syndicate place because the farmer lets quad bikes, and dog trainers. onto the same land as the shooters, at the same time. (He likes money you see). You have my sympathies mate. 'Standing your ground', to someone who doesn't like confrontation can be very scary. I hope you get it sorted.
  17. I have the 3 shot, and its my favourite gun ! I love the thing. Bargain for someone!...
  18. Hi All, I am in the market for a single shot/barrel, 12 or 20 g . Prefer Hammer /Ejector. Not into dog rough. And/or, not mega expensive. F 2 F Only. I'm in the North West PM me .
  19. Thats not bad with a new gun! As long as you had an enjoyable day , that's all that matters.
  20. Here in North Cheshire, you have more chance of seeing Lord Lucan ,riding Shugar. ! I Spent 2 hrs driving/walking around the syndicate grounds, and saw loads of..................... seagulls.
  21. 16, so far this year, 10 to the Webley Scott .410 Sportsman, and 5 to the S200 , 1 to the HW95K.(The sweetest). Cooked 2 for the guys at the archery club , ...........they loved it.
  22. Last evening, for no apparent reason, my old Cocker Spaniel 'Jo', (16yrs) suddenly jumped off the bed, emitting 'stuff' from both ends, and wobbling all over the place. Thinking he was having a stroke , we rang the vets , (2.30 am), and took him in the car to meet the duty vet. Thinking that we would not be bringing him home. She had a good look at him and there and then informed us that it was Vestibular disease, which has all the symptoms of a stroke, but in most cases, is not fatal. Vestibular disease affects older dogs, and is akin to us being permanently sea sick . It is uncomfortable, as all orientation goes , and a head tilt and staggering can make them look worse than they are. He is at home now , and has started eating again, and is trying to stand and get about on his own. This is just a 'heads up' in case it happens to one of yours, and you think its the end. Its not , they can recover. If I ever meet which ever god there is. I am going to have very serious words about the life span of dogs.
  23. An Air rifle,or single barrel 410, or a catapult, it don't matter , as long as you are not sat watching Loose Women re;(Old Hags, lets face it when they get to that age , what hasn't dried up leaks) ,or Jeremy Kyle , what does it matter ? Your outdoors ,your a 'Hunter' be proud, dunk your 'hobnobs',chill and see what drops/walks into, your kill zones. Its what pop ups are for
  24. Just a note! If you do get one, practice , practice and practice , folding it up to put away , before your first outing. Dancing round in a muddy field, in the rain , with a wire sprung cammo parachute, is not a huge load of fun.
  25. I have got to agree with Chris. A Fantastic gun , that you can carry all day, Reliable, solid engineering. You can double load it, and sometimes the 'indexing' finger on the magazine can get weak with age. But, the parts are cheap and available. .22, Gets about 80 shots max. I use AA Diablo in mine , which gives 11.4 ft/lbs. It used to be my' first choice' for hunting the long eared, but I now use a .177 s410 , with JSB heavies.
