  1. I dont have the maxi bag, but did have the hunter jacket and trousers. The outfit I had, just made me sweat , like a ' jordie' in a spelling contest. I placed them carefully in the 'clothes for Africa' bin in the local car park , and bought some 'Rivers West' kit , (smock and pants), proper kit.
  2. I couldn't be tempted away from the 16g, as they seem to deform more. Transferring more impact energy to the target.
  3. I have had two Daystate's , an old X2 which was good, but dropped pellets, and a new Huntsman, that was great at first , but then leaked just enough to be annoying. Sometimes it would be fine for weeks, but them leave it a couple of days and for no apparent reason 'nearly empty. Never been tempted away from my s410 and s200 since I got them , and never had any problems either.
  4. .177 sub 12 is superb for up to 40 yds or more if you can shoot well. So will .22 its just harder to place the shot, unless it has a similar trajectory as a .177 ;ie; fac. AA S410 carbine .177 , 30 rabbits just this last week.
  5. I was using AA Field, but was given a tin of Accupell FT to try. And I must say Iam very impressed with the results. They seem to be more consistent, and don't seem to distort in my fingertips like the AA's did.
  6. Good isn't he. And I bet the cost was reasonable as well? I lent my Stoeger X20 WW Special , to my son , and can't get it back off him.! I have a Vmach'd HW95k , sub 12 , And a HW80, both great guns, but shooting the WW X20, is something different, as, Its not supposed to shoot as well as it does.
  7. Best wishes to both of you for the future. My Mrs, ran off with my best mate! I've never met the man, but believe me ,he's my best mate
  8. I'm not arguing ,I was asking , and bow graciously to your vastly superior experience, and knowledge, and shooting abilities.
  9. I don't hunt with a Rimfire, but its interesting to watch ;iraqveteran888 How far will a .22rf kill? And 22 lethality 300yd ballistic tests on the same round.
  10. ".22 Rf, can be fatal at more than a mile", according to the powers that be. So if that' s the case a high velocity .22LR round at 150 mtrs should do the ''Fox job, if properly placed shouldn't it ??

    7th heaven

Nice Evo, good luck on the rats, and critters.

    BSA ULTRA

Probably the pellet. if its stopped spinning after 20yds it will loose direction, just Try some others.
  14. Funny isn't it, when you consider how we strive to get permissions , and then one day, "its just not there any more",? The thought of carting all that stuff out into a field, setting it all up , getting bug bites or rained on, or the birds that were there just go away. Or maybe its been a good day, and ,you have a bag full of blood spattered , smelly flyblown pigeons to deal with. Or , your knuckles deep in rabbits chest clearing the entrails out. Alternatives: Ikea, The local enterprise park , DFS , Next, Marks and Spencers. Or you could take up cycling, (Organ Donor). Sailing , Golf , Motorcycling (see cycling) Rambling. I found Field Archery (simulated hunting, shooting at Bison , Elk ,Alligator, Turkeys, Baboon, Velociraptors, Stegasuarus, and more using a Bow and Arrows). Well it floats my boat (for now). I hope you find something to move onto , if that's your wish. Good LUCK
  15. Dave at SCR, now he's a proper Engineer! I have had a few jobs done there , and never had anything less than excellent service, and a first class job.
  16. If you do decide to 'live with it' , try some double sided tape 'pads' between the stock and action, as its 3 x thicker than insulation tape, and will offer, more resistance to movement. However ,You,will need to re new these when you dissemble the gun for cleaning though. Cheap and efficient fix hopefully. But what an epic, DD, you are very patient, as I would have been in touch with Trading Standards a long time ago. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
  17. A walker/rambler killed at 900 yds, by a stray .22RF! "A .22RF,Can be lethal at more than a mile!" Then on lots of posts on forums saying , RF is NOT sufficient to shoot a head shot a fox with at any range.? Pellets ,and elevated discharge,. Most of the limited energy from the launch will be used in its upward propulsion,. Gravity pulling back toward the ground. As above , power at the end of a trajectory is another matter completely. This should always be done responsibly though, in full knowledge of where the projectile will land.
  18. My boss stuck a hose down the burrow entrance, and turned the tap on for an hour !!!!! I told him it wasn't really ethical , but we don't see any rabbits any more.
  19. Good deal , Good gun. Good Hunting.

    c02 help

Co 2 guns can give varying performance that occurs with Temperature change. I only have co2 pistols, and they are , never consistent unless they are kept at the same temp. Hope it helps.
  21. You may as well throw boulders, As suggested, use a lighter pellet. JSB Exacts ,RWS Superfield, AA Diablo. I have been trying Bismag in my .177, and at the found similar, sudden drop at the end of their trajectory.
  22. With a WW Trigger, and internals , you just wont want to put the thing down.
  23. Same thing happened to me! I have sole rights on all my perms. But have found discarded .22LR and 17hmr cases on those perms.(not allowed). I now no longer/rarely shoot alone, I have been lucky enough to find a responsible , trustworthy 'shoot buddy', who needed somewhere to shoot. Its just safer if there is two of you!
