  1. I think you'll find he only has use of the car for six months and then gives it back. If someone had actually won the main prize of keeping a car then they could not sell it for 6 months.
  2. Does that mean you are limited to one club or can you take your gun to different clubs so long as you return gun to your club for storage?
  3. Really? Singapore have clay shooting clubs with all the disciplines and many competitions.

    " St George"

Not much known about him really. He apparently followed his father into the Roman army, was an early Christian and was put to death because he would not turn against the Christians when the Emporer was persecuting them. He was born in a place that became part of Turkey.
  5. I would like to see Scotland stay in the Union. I believe we are stronger as a whole rather than separate entities. I state that I am British as quite frankly parts of me are Irish, Scottish and English and no doubt there are other bits of me from other places if you delve back far enough. Quite frankly if I was made to choose with a gun to my head what I should be and had choose one of the nations I would choose Wales - that is where I grew up and the place I think of as home but as far as I know unless its way back, I don't have any Welsh in me. There are very few who can call themselves pure English, pure Scottish etc etc. Anyway that's what I feel. Forgot to actually answer the original question - if they become independent then I think they should not keep the pound.
  6. Thank you for answering my question.
  7. Not interested in the colour of a cartridge just whether it suits my gun, me and my pocket. Why do you think 12 bore load is a mistake though?
  8. I see it now but only the head
  9. Near the top on the right hand side
  10. That's exactly right - you don't go there for sporting you go if you want a day of skeet, DTL, OT, UT etc.
  11. No married 22 yrs and with my husband for 30 yrs. I was not advocating an idiot showing a novice woman to shoot but an experienced shot male or female, no matter. I did say 21g carts to start and you do get less recoil from a 12g. If you spend time showing someone how to hold the gun correctly particularly as we do have boobs that get in the way sometimes, how to stand so that you are not off balance and don't be patronising (I know difficult for some) a woman will listen surprisingly. I may not let my husband where the pants all the time but I do recognise that after 20 yrs shooting he knows more than me. If I want a professional coach there are plenty to choose from.
  12. 5ft tall not big build, hands the size of a child Beretta SP 28" 12g, 13 1/3" stock, kick eez pad with a bit taken off the bottom so it rests properly - started with 21gm moved on to 24gm (my preferred) but quite happily use 28gm when the mood takes me. It's all about having someone show you how to stand properly - classic is to see a novice lean back no wonder they then get off balance, mount the gun properly in the right place because our boobs do get in the way sometimes and our bra straps can leave a horrible mark, practice at home mounting for muscle memory and strengthening our upper body and arms and eventually you get used to the weight of the gun. Also not spending so much time with the gun in your shoulder waiting, adjusting etc at the beginning we all do it and it is tiring.
  13. (a) if you can pick them up - not always possible due to where they fall and the length of the queue waiting to shoot (b) hope that I am hanging around because I love picking up cartridges - I find it very therapeutic. When waiting for traps to be filled etc I often start picking up the cartridges lying around.
  14. Bostonmick give up now, this cannot be good for your blood pressure. Personally I am of the opinion that just because something is legal does not always make it sensible. I think it depends on where you live and how on show you are in your garden. We do not live in the Wild West where having a gun was practically mandatory! Most of us live in suburbia and quite frankly I do not want to advertise what guns I have so I will not be cleaning mine in the garden any time soon. Whereas when we visit my parents in rural Wales, on a lovely day my husband cleans the guns in the garden because it is a secluded property.
  15. I'm female welsh1. you are right I will be looking into this. In fact if Liz comes along I think this is her area of speciality - I may PM her.
  16. I do not condone what he has done I simply don't understand enough about his condition and maybe I have too simplistic a view. By that I mean here we have a man who served his country whom I presume was willing to sacrifice his life for his fellow countrymen and women should the need arise yet he beat his child to death! Can it simply have been a normal sane person who lost his temper with a person you would presume he would protect above anything or anyone? what of those who shared his life the mother of his child for instance? It just breaks my heart on all sorts of levels.
  17. I don't know enough about PTSD to judge how "in your right mind" you are when you suffer an episode. I would be interested to know if anyone is more knowledgeable.
  18. It is tragic and I wonder whether enough is done for these ex servicemen or for long enough.
  19. it's badly worded as you fill in details of referees on the main form but refs forms as sent by refs individually at least they are in greater london as I was a ref for a FAC last year.
  20. My husband has it and massaging his foot every day helps. some days are better than others and insoles in his shoes help also. It is one of those things that just one day go but that can take months or even years. There are lots of exercises you can do involving rolling your foot over something like a rolling pin or using a towel to stretch your foot against. Just google it and you will see.
  21. Every so often a shop called Nichols located in Abergavenny and in Crickhowell in Wales (on-line also) have had them on sale but not every year. I managed 2 yrs ago to get three @ £40 each. Just ring and ask just in case they are on sale at all this year.

    Good News

Congratulations, she's been given a beautiful name.
  23. In London if you see them they never walk alone always two/three together.
  24. I am 30% and this is what my write up was You are warm and empathic with a heightened awareness of social responsibility and a strong sense of conscience. You like to carefully weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before you act and are generally averse to taking risks. You are very much a ‘people person’ and dislike conflict. ‘Do unto others…’ are your watchwords. But, although you avoid hurting others, those residing at the higher end of the psychopathic spectrum might not be as considerate, so stay vigilant to avoid being hurt unnecessarily.
  25. I love it, easy viewing and quite funny in parts. I would like their lifestyle, fishing shooting and general tom foolery.
