  1. Barley is excellent feed. If you can feed it regular all the better. Old rule of thumb being, a bucket of food per 100 duck per day.
  2. The copper is a div. if you really had pointed at the crazy bloke, surely showing you're cert wouldn't make it right!
  3. Any gravel pit or large lake/ reservoir will usually have Pochard this time of year along with Tufted and coots. Shot every uk wildfowl species, including Ruddy duck, but never raised my gun to a Pintail, but seen lots shot, so know how you feel. Shoot any of the above areas, and you'll shoot one in no time!
  4. my favourite all time cartridge ( and Viri Fobs ) but can't stretch to using them for pigeon ( good driven birds only ) " money bags !"
  5. Get a nice lab bitch, bit more biddable than a dog ( not always ) you'll enjoy your shooting so much more!
  6. yes, but, sparks, plumbers, painters, roofers, plasterers will always be needed, privately. When money's tight, we don't need brick walls extensions etc, but leaking pipes/ roofs, dodgy fuse boards, become necessities.

    kent?

    Three cheers for Kent!.........
  8. Clear pigeon 32gm for me. Express pigeon used to be good, but use some 30gms for roosting in February, and was disappointed. Left a load of crud down the barrels. Soft on the shoulder though!
  9. all the british brickies I know are earning a lot more than that, as there's a house building boom at moment. If it could only last, then yes, do a brick work apprenticeship. But who wants to do their time and be met with another recession ? £400 a week then, if you can get any work!
  10. will be looking after christmas Big bird thanks. 6mths old and untouched would be better. And have a preference for Black Bitches, must be kinky! Cheers.
  11. Think the Latin name is Gasus Fittus/ Scratchy Headus.

  14. Use a #8 reservoir trout rod, now that's good sport!
  15. Rabbits and flint= happy farmer. Nice to see a bit of long netting still being practiced.
  16. Better than 200 over coys, well done! Beautiful place the Cotswolds, lucky man.
  17. Sorry to hear, but what a lovely ripe old age he lived for.
  18. 30lb braid with a 25lb mono leader about a foot longer than the rod for casting is more than ample for anything other than using heavy jerk baits.
